Crystal structure of bis-[μ-1,2-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)ethane-κ(2) P:P']bis[(N,N'-di-ethyl-thio-urea-κS)iodidocopper(I)].

ABSTRACT: The binuclear title complex, [Cu2I2(C26H24P2)2(C5H12N2S)2], lies about an inversion centre. The Cu(I) atom displays a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry defined by one S atom of an N,N'-di-ethyl-thio-urea ligand, two P atoms derived from two bridging 1,2-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)ethane (dppe) ligands and one iodide ion. The dppe ligand bridges two symmetry-related Cu(I) ions, forming a 10-membered Cu2P4C4 ring. An intra-molecular N-H⋯I hydrogen bond is noted. In the crystal, N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds link complex mol-ecules into layers parallel to (-101).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(NCS)(C3H8N2S)(C27H26P2)], contains two independent mononuclear complex mol-ecules. In each, the Cu(I) ion exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by coordination with two P atoms from one 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane (dppm) ligand, one terminal S atom of one N,N'-di-methyl-thio-urea (dmtu) ligand and one terminal N atom of the thio-cyanato ligand. The dppp ligand is involved in a bidentate coordination mode with the Cu(I) ion, forming a six-membered CuP2C3 ring. In both mol-ecules, the coordination of the dmtu ligand is further stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond with an S(6) graph-set motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds forming a zigzag chain along the a-axis direction. In one independent mol-ecule, one of the phenyl rings of the dppp ligand is disordered over two sites with refined occupancies 0.639 (11):0.361 (11) and this corresponds with a mutual disorder of the dmtu ligand in the other independent mol-ecule giving the same ratio of refined occupancies. The structure was refined as a two-component inversion twin.

Project description:In the dinuclear title compound, [Cu2I2(C3H8N2S)(C25H22P2)2]·1.5CH3CN, each Cu(I) atom exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral coordination with two P atoms from two bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm) ligands, one metal-bridging S atom from the 1-ethyl-thio-urea (ettu) ligand and one iodide ion. The dppm ligand and the bridging S atom of the ettu ligand force the two copper atoms into close proximity, leading to the formation of a close intra-molecular Cu⋯Cu contact [3.3747 (17) Å]. The conformation of the dimeric complex is such that the two dppm ligands are located on one side of the dinuclear metal complex, while the two iodine atoms are pointed towards the other side of the complex, a conformation that is stabilized by two intra-molecular N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds between the ettu NH2 and NHEt moieties and the I atoms. Another pair of symmetry-equivalent N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds is established between neighboring mol-ecules across an inversion center, linking mol-ecules into dimers. The dimers are connected with each other and with the inter-stitial acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules via a range of weaker C-H⋯I and C-H⋯S inter-actions and through weak C-H⋯π inter-actions, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network. One of the acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules is disordered in a 1:1 ratio across a crystallographic inversion center.

Two solvent mol-ecules per complex are present in the lattice. The Cd(II) ion is situated on an inversion centre and is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral fashion by two N and two S atoms from four thio-cyanate ligands and by two S atoms from two thio-urea mol-ecules. Weak O-H⋯S, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N inter-actions reinforce the structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(C6H5)2Cl2(CH4N2S)2], has been obtained from the reaction between Sn(C6H5)2Cl2 and SC(NH2)2. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of the mol-ecular unit, the remainder generated by a twofold rotation axis located along the Cl-Sn-Cl bonds. The Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by two phenyl groups, two Cl atoms and two thio-urea ligands in an all trans octa-hedral C2Cl2S2 environment. Individual mol-ecules are connected through N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, leading to a three-dimensional network structure. Intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {(C(12)H(14)N(2))[Fe(NCS)(4)]}(n), the iron(II) cation is coordinated by four N-bonded and two S-bonded thio-cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral coordination mode. The asymmetric unit consists of half an iron(II) cation and half a protonated (E)-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication, each located on a centre of inversion. In addition, there are two thio-cyanate anions in general positions. The crystal structure consists of Fe-(NCS)(2)-Fe chains in which each iron(II) cation is additionally coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions. Non-coordinating dipyridinium dications are present between the thiocyanatoferrate(II) chains and are connected to the anions via N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen-bond interactions.

Crystal structure of bis-(thio-cyanato-κS)bis-(thio-urea-κS)mercury(II).

Project description:In the title complex, [Hg(NCS)2(CH4N2S)2], the Hg(II) atom is four-coordinated having an irregular four-coordinate geometry composed of four thione S atoms of two thio-cyanate groups and two thio-urea groups. The S-Hg-S angles are 172.02 (9)° for the trans-thio-cyanate S atoms and 90.14 (5)° for the cis-thio-urea S atoms. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bond, which forms an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by a number of N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. The first report of the crystal structure of this compound appeared in 1966 [Korczynski (1966 ▶). Rocz. Chem. 40, 547-569] with an extremely high R factor of 17.2%, and no mention of how the data were collected.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [HgCl2(C3H8N2S)2], has point group symmetry 2, with the twofold rotation axis passing through the Hg(II) atom. The latter is coordinated by two Cl atoms and two N,N'-di-methyl-thio-urea (Dmtu) ligands through their S atoms, defining a distorted tetra-hedral coordination sphere with bond angles in the range 102.47 (4)-118.32 (4)°. Intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds of the type N-H⋯Cl with S(6) and R 2 (2)(12) ring motifs are present. The inter-molecular contacts make up polymeric chains extending parallel to [101].

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, [Ni(CO3)(C14H32P2)], the metal center in each of three independent mol-ecules shows slight tetra-hedral distortion from ideal square-planar coordination geometry, with angles between the normals to the planes defined by the cis-P-Ni-P and cis-O-Ni-O fragments of 3.92 (17), 0.70 (16) and 2.17 (14)° in the three mol-ecules. In the crystal, there are inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds that show a laminar growth in the ab plane.
