Crystal structure of ?₆-chlorido-nona-kis-(?-4-chloro-pyrazolato)bis-?₃-methoxo-hexa-copper(II).

ABSTRACT: The hexa-nuclear title compound, [{Cu₃(?₃-OCH₃)(?-C₃H₂ClN₂)₃}₂(?-C₃H₂ClN₂)₃(?₆-Cl)] or [Cu₆(C₃H₂ClN₂)₉(CH₃O)₂Cl], crystallizes in the space group Pbcn, with individual mol-ecules being located on a twofold rotation axis. The mol-ecule adopts a trigonal prismatic shape, with two trinuclear units linked by three 4-chloro-pyrazolate ligand bridges by encapsulating a Cl^- anion in a ?₆-coordination mode. In the crystal, individual mol-ecules are stacked into rods parallel to [1-10] that are arranged in a pseudo-hexa-gonal packing. Cohesion between mol-ecules is accomplished through weak C-H?Cl inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu4Cl6O(C13H9N)4]·CH2Cl2, the core mol-ecular structure consists of a Cu4 tetra-hedron with a central inter-stitial O atom. Each edge of the Cu4 tetra-hedron is bridged by a chlorido ligand. Each copper(II) cation is coordinated to the central O atom, two chlorido ligands and one N atom of the 4-phenyl-ethynyl-pyridine ligand. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. Furthermore, C-H⋯π and π-π inter-actions also connect the mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional network. Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the most important contributions for the packing arrangement are from H⋯H and C⋯H/H⋯C inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(4)Cl(6)O(C(10)H(10)N(2))(4)], contains four Cu(II) atoms which are bridged by six chloride anions. The central O atom is located on a crystallographic fourfold roto-inversion axis. Each Cu(II) atom is coordinated by an N atom of a neutral monodentate 3-methyl-5-phenyl-pyrazole ligand, three Cl(-) anions, and one O(2-) anion. The geometry at each Cu(II) atom is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal, with the three Cl(-) ions in the equatorial plane and the N and O atoms in the axial positions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu8(C4H9O)4(C4F9O)4], crystallizes in the monoclinic space group, P21/n and contains a self-assembly of two C16H18Cu4F18O4 units linked by bridging tert-butyl groups [Cu-O bonds of length 2.3779 (15) and 2.4248 (15) Å], generating a centrosymmetric dimer. The asymmetrical unit, C16H18Cu4F18O4, contains an almost square-planar arrangement of the four Cu atoms linked by bridging tert-butyl and perfluorinated tert-butyl groups with Cu-Cu distances ranging from 2.7108 (4) to 2.7612 (4) Å and Cu -Cu-Cu angle values close to 90° [ranging from 89.459 (10)° to 90.025 (11)°]. These dimers are further linked by weak C-H⋯F and F⋯F inter-actions. As is commonly encountered in perfluorinated tert-butyl groups, one of the CF3 groups is disordered and was refined with two equivalent conformations with occupancies of 0.74 (3) and 0.26 (3).

Project description:The title tetra-nuclear complex, [Cu(4)Cl(6)O(C(13)H(11)N(3))(4)], features a tetra-hedral arrangement of copper(II) ions bonded to the central O atom (site symmetry [Formula: see text]). Each of the six edges of the Cu(4) tetra-hedron is bridged by a chloride ion (one of which has site symmetry 2), so that each copper ion is linked to the other three metal ions through the central O atom and through three separate chloride-ion bridges. The fifth coord-ination position, located on the central Cu-O axis on the outside of the cluster, is occupied by an N atom of the mono-dentate 1-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)-1H-benzimidazole ligand. The resulting coordination geometry of the metal ion is a distorted trigonal bipyramid with the O and N atoms in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the benzimidazole ring system and the pendant pyridine ring is 61.0?(2)°.
