Crystal structure of [1,2-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)benzene]-hepta-carbonyldi-?-hydrido-(?₃-2,4,6-tri-methyl-phenyl-phosphin-idene)-triangulo-triruthenium.

ABSTRACT: The title trinuclear ruthenium cluster, [Ru₃(C₃₀H₂₄P₂)(C₉H₁₁P)(CO)₇(?-H)₂], has a triangular Ru₃ core that is capped with a mesitylphosphin-idene ligand, ?₃-PMes (Mes = mesityl = 2,4,6-tri-methyl-phen-yl). The 1,2-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)benzene mol-ecule acts as a bidentate phosphine ligand via two P atoms connecting to a single Ru atom. The title compound crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit.

In the trigonal-pyramidal Ru(3)P core, one Ru(II) atom is coordinated by a triphenyl-phosphane ligand in a terminal fashion. Two hydride ligands bridge over two Ru-Ru bonds. These Ru-Ru bonds [2.9400?(4) and 2.9432?(4)?Å] are slightly longer than the nonhydride-bridged Ru-Ru bond [2.8146?(4)?Å]. Project description:In the title compound, [Mo(2)(?(7)-C(7)H(7))(2)(?-H)(3)], which displays crystallographic mirror symmetry, two (?(7)-C(7)H(7))Mo units are linked along the Mo-Mo axis by three bridging hydride ligands. The Mo-Mo distance is 2.5732?(4)?Å. The perpendicular distances of the Mo atoms from the C(7) planes are 1.5827?(8) and 1.5814?(8)?Å, with individual Mo-C bond lengths in the range 2.261?(2)-2.2789?(14)?Å. Project description:The crystallization of a 1:1 molar solution of 1,3,5-tri-fluoro-2,4,6-di-iodo-benzene (TFTIB) and tetra-phenyl-phosponium iodide (TPPI) from methanol produced tetra-gonal needles of pure TPPI and tabular pseudo-hexa-gonal truncated bipyramids of the title compound, 3C24H20P(+)·3I(-)·4C6F3I3·CH4O or (TPPI)3(TFTIB)4·MeOH. The asymmetric unit is composed of six TPPI mol-ecules, eight TFTIB mol-ecules and two methanol mol-ecules, overall 16 constituents. The formation of the architecture is essentially guided by a number of C-I?I(-) halogen bonds (XB), whose lengths are in the range 3.276?(1)-3.625?(1)?Å. Layers of supra-molecular polyanions are formed parallel to (10-1) wherein iodide anions function as penta-, tetra- or bidentate XB acceptors. The structure is not far from being P21/n, but the centrosymmetry is lost due to a different conformation of a single couple of cations and the small asymmetry in the formed supra-molecular anion. One methanol mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to an iodide anion, while the second is linked to the first one via an O-H?O contact. This second methanol mol-ecule is more loosely pinned in its position than the first and presents very high anisotropic displacement parameters and a seeming shortening of the C-O bond length. The crystal studied was refined as a perfect inversion twin.

Project description:In the title cluster complex hexane solvate, [Ru6(C30H32P2)(CO)22]·C6H14, two Ru3(CO)11 fragments are linked by a Ph2P(CH2)6PPh2 bridge with the P atoms equatorially disposed with respect to the Ru3 triangle in each case; the hexane solvent mol-ecule is statistically disordered. The Ru?Ru distances span a relatively narrow range, i.e. 2.8378?(4) to 2.8644?(4)?Å. The hexyl chain within the bridge has an all-trans conformation. In the mol-ecular packing, C-H?O inter-actions between cluster mol-ecules, and between cluster and hexane solvent mol-ecules lead to a three-dimensional architecture. In addition, there are a large number of C?O??(arene) inter-actions in the crystal. The importance of the carbonyl groups in establishing the packing is emphasized by the contribution of 53.4% to the Hirshfeld surface by O?H/H?O contacts.

Project description:The title crystals, C7H2I3N, are isomorphous. Both mol-ecules lie across two crystallographic mirror planes and a twofold axis. The principal supra-molecular inter-action is centric R22(10) CN/NC⋯I short contacts involving both ortho I atoms, with two contacts bis-ecting each cyano and iso-cyano group. These form ribbons along [010] and give rise to a planar sheet structure parallel to (100). All pairs of adjacent sheets have centric stacking, a mode not previously reported for sheets of this type. This study completes the series of homo-2,4,6-trihalobenzo-nitriles, in which I atoms give the strongest CN⋯X and NC⋯X inter-actions (X = F, Cl, Br, I).
