Bromeliads tank water or phytotelma is an eutrophic microenvironment where microorganisms have evolved to resist sudden changes in pH and nutritional competition. Metagenomics studies have been poorly studied in bromeliads and environmental DNA (eDNA) characterization for its microenvironment is deficient in Puerto Rico.
