Metalla-analogs of polycyclic arynes represent an interesting class of metallaaromatics with a formal M[triple bond, length as m-dash]C bond within the ring. The first examples of a bicyclic β-metallaaryne and tricyclic metallaarynes, including a metallaanthracyne and a metallaphenanthryne, were obtained in good yields by reactions of OsCl<sub>2</sub>(PPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>3</sub> with alkyne-functionalized phosphorus ylides. ...[more]
