Anti-biofilm activity of quinazoline derivatives against Mycobacterium smegmatis.


ABSTRACT: Bacteria employ a number of mechanisms to resist the effects of antibiotics, including the formation of biofilms. We explored the anti-biofilm capabilities of a library of compounds based upon a 2-aminoquinazoline (2-AQ) scaffold against Mycobacterium smegmatis. This study resulted in the identification of 2-AQ derivatives with biofilm inhibition activity against M. smegmatis.
