Poly[[tetra-aqua-bis(1H-imidazole-?N)bis-[2-(oxaloamino)benzoato(3-)]dicopper(II)barium(II)] dihydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, {[BaCu(2)(C(9)H(4)NO(5))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Ba(2+) cation is deca-coordinate, ligated by four aqua ligands and four [Cu(C(9)H(4)O(5)N)(C(3)H(4)N(2))] 'complex ligands'. The Cu(II)-containing complex-ligands are bridged by the Ba(2+) cations, resulting in a one-dimensional polymeric chain structure. The crystal structure is maintained via N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. There is one disordered solvent water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit, with occupancies of 0.44?(2) and 0.56?(2).

The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H?O, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the water mol-ecules and the imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Cd(II) atom is coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from two bidentate chelating 4-methyl-benzoate ligands, two N atoms from two imidazole ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted penta-gonal bipyramidal geometry. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate O atoms of 4-methyl-benzoate lead to an infinite chain. These chains are further self-assembled into a two-dimensional layer through N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the imidazole ligands and carboxyl-ate groups. One of the imidazole ligands is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.737?(4) and 0.263?(4).

Project description:In the title heterotrinuclear coordination compound, [CaCu(2)(C(9)H(4)NO(5))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]·7H(2)O, the Ca(2+) cation is in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry and bridges two (1H-imidazole)[2-(oxaloamino)benzoato(3-)]copper(II) units in its equatorial plane. Each Cu(II) atom has a normal square-planar geometry. The mol-ecule has approximate local (non-crystallographic) mirror symmetry and 23 classical hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure.

The Mn(II) ion exhibits a centrosymmetric octa-hedral geometry involving two carboxyl-ate O atoms of two different pztmb ligands and four O atoms of four coordinated water mol-ecules. The packing shows a three-dimensional supra-molecular network via O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.884?(8) and 4.034?(8)?Å] between the benzene ring of one pztmb anion and the pyrazine ring of an adjacent anion.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ba(C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), consists of a barium ion coordinated by two nitrophenolate ligands and four water mol-ecules. Barium is deca-coordinated by O atoms. These units are linked together through bridging nitro groups to form a one-dimensional polymeric chain. The three-dimensional packing is facilitated through hydrogen-bonding inter-actions mediated through water mol-ecules. The coordination distances around Ba vary from 2.728?(4) to 3.138?(5)?Å. The crystal sample, on exposure to air at room temperature for many days, slowly loses the water and peels out as filaments.
