ABSTRACT: The title compound, [La(C(7)H(3)O(6)S)(H(2)O)](n), forms a three-dimensional framework in which the asymmetric unit contains one La(III) atom, one 5-sulfosalicylate (2-oxido-4-sulfonatobenzoate) ligand and one coordinated water mol-ecule. The La(III) atom is coordinated by nine O atoms from three carboxyl-ate, three sulfonate and two hydroxyl groups, and one water mol-ecule, forming a distorted trigonal-prismatic square-face tricapped geometry.

Project description:The reaction of lanthanum nitrate and 4-ethyl-benzoic acid (EBAH) in aqueous solution yielded the title polymer, [La(C(9)H(9)O(2))(3)(C(9)H(10)O(2))(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one La(III) atom, three 4-ethyl-benzoate (EBA) ligands, one neutral EBAH ligand and one coordinated water mol-ecule. Each La(III) ion is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from six bridging-bidentate EBA ligands, one O atom from a monodentate EBAH ligand and one water O atom in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The adjacent La(III) ions are linked by the carboxyl-ate groups of EBA ligands in a bridging-bidetate coordination mode, resulting in an infinite chain structure along the c axis. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the water mol-ecules, carboxyl-ate groups and carboxyl H atoms are formed within the one-dimensional polymer. One of the ethyl groups is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.717 (7) and 0.283 (7).

Project description:In the title compound, {[La(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]Cl}(n), the La(III) atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four isonicotinate ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted square-anti-prismatic coodination environment. Adjacent La(III) atoms are bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups from two isonicotinate ligands, forming an extended chain along [001]. These chains are linked through O-H?N hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network with channels in which the chloride anions form O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Intra-chain O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.908?(2)?Å] are also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb?(C?H?O?S)?(C??H?N?)?(H?O)?]·CH?COOH, the seven-coordinate Pb(II) atom is chelated by two N atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, four O atoms from three 5-sulfosalicylate dianions and one water O atom. Each dianion serves as a bridging ligand, connecting adjacent Pb(II) atoms into a centrosymmetric polymeric chain extending parallel to [001]. There are ?-? inter-actions between the aromatic systems of neighbouring dianions, with plane-to-plane distances of 3.371?(2)?Å, and between phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.484?(2)?Å. O-H?O hydrogen bonding additionally stabilizes the crystal packing. The acetic acid mol-ecules are incorporated in the voids of this arrangement. They exhibit half-occupancy due to disorder around a centre of inversion.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Er(2)(C(2)H(4)O(6)PS)(OH)(3)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), consists of two Er(3+) ions, one (C(2)H(4)O(6)PS)(3-) ion, three OH(-) ions, and two water mol-ecule. The Er(3+) ions form ErO(8) polyhedra., which are connected by ?- and ?(3)-O atoms. Thus, inorganic Er-O-Er layers of edge- and face-sharing polyhedra are observed. Whereas most often in metal phosphono-sulfonates the organic linker bridges adjacent layers, in the title compound, the (O(3)PC(2)H(4)SO(3))(3-) anion is only connected to one Er-O-Er layer. Short interatomic O?O distances [2.898?(8), 2.997?(14) and 2.768?(10)?Å] indicate hydrogen bonding between the layers. The noncoordinated water mol-ecules are located between the layers.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ag(2)La(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(ClO(4))(H(2)O)(5)](n), the La(III) atom, lying on a twofold rotation axis, is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four nicotinate (nic) ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination geometry. The Ag(I) atom is coordinated in an almost linear fashion by two pyridyl N atoms of two nic ligands. The linear coordination is augmented by weak inter-actions with one O atom from a half-occupied ClO(4) (-) anion and a water mol-ecule lying on a twofold axis. Two Ag(nic)(2) units connect two La atoms, forming a cyclic unit. These units are further extended into an infinite zigzag chain. The chains are bridged by the disordered perchlorate ions via weak Ag-O [2.678?(2)?Å] inter-actions. O-H?O hydrogen bonds, weak Ag?Ag [3.3340?(15)?Å] inter-actions and ?-? inter-actions between the pyridyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.656?(2)?Å] lead to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, [Co(C(7)H(4)IO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), contains one Co(II) cation, two iodo-benzoate anions and two water mol-ecules. One iodo-benzoate anion and one water mol-ecule bridge adjacent Co cations, forming a polymeric chain running along the a axis, while the other iodo-benzoate anion and water mol-ecule coordinate in a monodentate manner to the Co(II) cation, completing the slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the two independent anionic ligands, the carboxyl-ate groups are twisted away from the attached benzene rings by 51.38?(18) and 39.89?(11)°, and the two benzene rings are nearly perpendicular to each other with a dihedral angle of 86.09?(10)°. Intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between coordinating water mol-ecules and adjacent carboxyl-ate O atoms help to stabilize the mol-ecular structure. In the crystal, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the polymeric chains into a three-dimentional supra-molecular network.
