Catena-Poly[[[tetra-aqua-lanthanum(III)]-di-?-isonicotinato-?(4)O:O'] chloride].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[La(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]Cl}(n), the La(III) atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four isonicotinate ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted square-anti-prismatic coodination environment. Adjacent La(III) atoms are bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups from two isonicotinate ligands, forming an extended chain along [001]. These chains are linked through O-H?N hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network with channels in which the chloride anions form O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Intra-chain O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.908?(2)?Å] are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, [CuEu(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(8)(H(2)O)(4)](n), displays a one-dimensional chain structure. The four-coordinate Cu(II) ion (site symmetry ) adopts a trans-CuN(2)O(2) geometry and is bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups from two isonicotinate ligands. The Eu(III) ion adopts a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, being coordinated by four O atoms from bridging carboxyl-ate groups of four isonicotinate ligands, two O atoms from chelating carboxyl-ate groups of one isonicotinate ligand and two O atoms from coordinated water mol-ecules; adjacent Eu(III) ions in the chain are related by inversion. The water mol-ecules interact with the ligands via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds [O⋯O = 2.782 (3)-2.881 (3) Å], which link the chains into a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:A new thulium(III)-copper(I) heterometallic coordination polymer, [Cu(4)Tm(2)Br(3)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(6)(OH)(H(2)O)(4)](n), has been prepared by a hydro-thermal method. The Tm and both Cu atoms lie on mirror planes. The Tm atom is seven-coordinate with a capped distorted trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry, while the Cu atoms adopt trigonal CuBrN(2) and tetra-hedral CuBr(3)N coordination modes, respectively. The Cu atom in the trigonal coordination environment is disordered over two sites of equal occupancy. The crystal structure is constructed from two distinct units of dimeric [Tm(2)(?(2)-OH(IN)(6)(H(2)O)(4)] cores (IN = isonicotinate) and one-dimensional inorganic [Cu(4)Br(3)](n) chains, which are linked together, forming heterometallic Cu-halide-lanthanide-organic layers.

Project description:The title compound, [K(C(6)H(4)N(5))(H(2)O)(2)](n), was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of KOH with 4-(5-tetra-zolio)pyridine. The K atom has a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment and is coordinated by two axial N atoms from the organic ligand and by four water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane. The mol-ecules as a whole are located on crystallographic mirror planes; the K atom is also located on an inversion center. Both the water mol-ecules and the organic ligands act as bridges to link symmetrically the adjacent K atoms into polymeric chains parallel to the c axis. O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the water O atoms and aromatic ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.80?(2)?Å] between the pyridine and tetra-zole rings build up an infinite three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, {[AgSm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(C(2)O(4))]·H(2)O}(n), the asymmetric unit contains one Sm(III) ion, one Ag(I) ion, two unique isonicotinate (ina) ligands, two half oxalate (ox) ligands (one on an inversion centre, the other on a twofold axis) and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The central Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by four O-donor atoms from separate bidentate bridging ox ligands and five O-donor atoms from the two ina ligands (both bidentate) and a symmetry-related ina ligand [Sm-O = 2.389?(4)-2.791?(4)?Å], giving a distorted monocapped square anti-prismatic geometry. The Ag(I) ion is three-coordinated in a T-shaped geometry involving two ina N-donor atoms [Ag-N = 2.181?(6) and 2.185?(5)?Å] and a bridging oxalate O-donor atom [Ag-O = 2.620?(4)?Å]. The three-dimensional heterometallic Sm-Ag coordination polymer, having a unique (3,4,6)-connected five-nodal net topology, is constructed from two-dimensional samarium-oxalate layers and pillared Ag(ina)(2) subunits. Inter-molecular water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are also present.

Project description:The reaction of lanthanum nitrate and 4-ethyl-benzoic acid (EBAH) in aqueous solution yielded the title polymer, [La(C(9)H(9)O(2))(3)(C(9)H(10)O(2))(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one La(III) atom, three 4-ethyl-benzoate (EBA) ligands, one neutral EBAH ligand and one coordinated water mol-ecule. Each La(III) ion is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from six bridging-bidentate EBA ligands, one O atom from a monodentate EBAH ligand and one water O atom in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The adjacent La(III) ions are linked by the carboxyl-ate groups of EBA ligands in a bridging-bidetate coordination mode, resulting in an infinite chain structure along the c axis. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the water mol-ecules, carboxyl-ate groups and carboxyl H atoms are formed within the one-dimensional polymer. One of the ethyl groups is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.717 (7) and 0.283 (7).

Project description:A new lanthanum(III)-copper(I) heterometallic coordination polymer, [Cu(7)La(3)Br(6)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(8)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(H(2)O)(4)](n), has been prepared by a hydro-thermal method. Of the three La atoms in the asymmetric unit, two are eight-coordinate with bicapped trigonal-prismatic configurations; the third is nine-coordinated and has a tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry. Of the seven Cu atoms, two are two-coordinate with CuBrN and CuN(2) ligand sets, three have trigonal configurations, viz. CuBrN(2), CuBr(2)N and CuBr(3), while the remaining two adopt distorted tetra-hedral CuBr(3)N geometries. In the crystal structure, adjacent La centers are linked by isonicotinate (IN(-)) and benzene-1,2-dicarboxyl-ate ligands to form a two-dimensional La-carboxyl-ate layer in the ab plane. These layers are further inter-connected with each other by bridging [Cu(IN)(2)] motifs, leading to an unusual three-dimensional heterometallic Cu-halide-lanthanide-organic framework, with the inorganic [Cu(6)Br(6)](n) chains located in the resulting channels. Two Cu atoms are disordered over two positions, both with site occupancy factors of 0.80 and 0.20. O-H?O hydrogen bonding between water molecules and carboxylate O atoms helps to consolidate the crystal packing.

The four-coordinate Ag(I) ion adopts a tetra-hedral geometry, being bonded to two N atoms from two bridging isonicotinate ligands and two O atoms from two acetate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging isonicotinate and acetate ligands, generating a three-dimensional network.
