ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(11)H(10)ClNO(3), the mol-ecule consists of a benzene ring and an acetamido-acrylic acid unit on opposite sides of the C=C double bond. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds assemble the mol-ecules into infinite two-dimensional ribbons. These ribbons are linked into a network by inter-molecular C-H?? contacts.

These dimers are linked to each other via C-H?O bonds, where the CH group belongs to the benzene ring and the O atom is from the carbonyl group of an adjacent mol-ecule. There exist two inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which individually form five-membered rings. There also exists a ?-? inter-action between the aromatic ring and its symmetry counterpart, with a centroid-centroid distance of 4.0202?(17)?Å, and a C-H?? inter-action between a methyl CH group and the aromatic ring.

Project description:The title compound, C(10)H(9)NO(4), forms R(2) (2)(8) dimers due to inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding in the crystal structure. Two dimers are further linked to each other through two inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming an R(3) (3)(7) ring motif. The nitro groups form an intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond mimicking a five-membered ring. As a result of these hydrogen bonds, polymeric sheets are formed. The aromatic ring makes a dihedral angle of 42.84?(8)° with the carboxyl-ate group and an angle of 8.01?(14)° with the nitro group. There is a ?-inter-action (N-O??) between the nitro group and the aromatic ring, with a distance of 3.7572?(14)?Å between the N atom and the centroid of the aromatic ring.

Project description:Sydnones are unusual mesoionic compounds containing a five-membered heterocyclic ring. Generally for stability, substitution at the N-3 position by an aromatic fragment is necessary. In the title compound, C(10)H(9)N(3)O(3), the aromatic substitutent is 2-acetamido-phenyl. The two planar ring fragments are twisted relative to one another, with a inter-planar angle of 63.13?(5)°. The mol-ecules are packed into the unit cell via ?-? inter-actions between the phenyl rings [inter-planar separation = 3.4182?(4)?Å] and between the sydnone rings [inter-planar separation = 3.2095?(4)?Å]. N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonding is also found inter-nally and externally to the mol-ecule.

Project description:The conformations of the N-H and C=O bonds in the amide segment of the structure of the title compound {systematic name: 3-[(2-chloro-phen-yl)amino-carbon-yl]propionic acid}, C(10)H(10)ClNO(3), are trans to each other, while the conformation of the amide H atom is syn to the ortho-chloro group in the benzene ring. Project description:In the title compound, C(10)H(8)ClNO(3), the molecular conformation is stabilized by two intra-molecular hydrogen bonds. The first is a short O-H⋯O hydrogen bond within the maleamic acid unit and the second is a C-H⋯O hydrogen bond which connects the amide group with the phenyl ring. The maleamic acid unit is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.044 Å, and makes a dihedral angle of 15.2 (1)° with the phenyl ring. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into C(7) chains running [010].
