ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Ru(2)(C(13)H(15)S)(2)(CO)(4)], is a centrosymmetric binuclear metal-carbonyl complex containing an Ru-Ru single bond [2.7511?(8)?Å]. Each Ru(I) atom is coordinated by two bridging carbonyl ligands, one terminal carbonyl ligand and one ?(5)-cyclo-penta-dienyl group. The complex has a trans conformation and the two cyclo-penta-dienyl ring planes are parallel. The crystal structure involves weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru(2)(C(14)H(17)O)(2)(CO)(4)], each Ru(I) atom is connected to one end-on and two bridging carbonyl groups and one cyclo-penta-dienyl ring. The two Ru atoms are connected into binuclear complexes via two bridging carbonyl groups, forming four-membered rings which are located on centres of inversion. The Ru-Ru distance of 2.7483?(11)?Å corresponds to a single bond. The two carbonyl groups in these binuclear complexes are trans-oriented.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(13)H(10)O)](C(24)H(20)B), consists of discrete [Cp*Ru(II)benzophenone] cations and tetra-phenyl-borate anions (Cp* = penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl). Tethering the Cp*Ru group to one aryl ring of benzophenone results in average values of 1.42?(1) and 1.38?(1)?Å for the C-C bond lengths in the Ru-tethered and untethered phenyl rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the benzene and phenyl rings of the benzophenone group is 50.5?(1)°.

Project description:The title compounds, [Mo(C5H5)(COCH3)P(CH3)2(C6H5)(CO)2], (1), and [Mo(C5H5)(COCH3)P(C2H5)(C6H5)2)(CO)2], (2), have been prepared by phosphine-induced migratory insertion from [Mo(C5H5)(CO)3(CH3)]. Both complex mol-ecules exhibit a four-legged piano-stool geometry with trans-disposed carbonyl ligands along with Mo-P bond lengths and C-Mo-P angles that reflect the relative steric pressure of the respective phosphine ligand. The structure of compound (1) exhibits a layered arrangement parallel to (100). Within the layers mol-ecules are linked into chains along [001] by non-classical C-H?O inter-actions between the acetyl ligand of one mol-ecule and the phenyl and methyl phosphine substituents of another. In the structure of complex (2), a chain motif of centrosymmetrical dimers is found along [010] through C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(?(5)-C(5)H(5)){?(6)-C(6)H(2)(CH(3))(3)NH(2)}]PF(6), contains a sandwich complex with a mesitylamine unit which is significantly non-planar at the ipso-carbon of the amino group due to repulsive electronic effects with Ru. The ipso-carbon deviates by 0.107?(3)?Å from the least-squares plane of the remaining five benzene ring atoms, which show an r.m.s. deviation of 0.005?Å. N-H?F hydrogen-bonding interactions help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ru(C(7)H(8))(C(10)H(15))]PF(6), the cation lies on a mirror plane and the anion lies on an inversion center. The distance between the Ru atom and the centroid of the benzene ring is 1.706 (5) Å and the distance between the Ru atom and the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring is 1.811 (5) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. The H atoms of the methyl groups which lie on the mirror plane are disordered over two sites with equal occupancies.

In the cation, the non-H atoms of the butan-2-one group are approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.056?Å) and lie nearly perpendicular to the plane of the phenyl ring with a dihedral angle between the two planes of 69.3?(1)°. No significant C-H?O inter-actions are observed between the methyl and phenyl H atoms and the carbonyl O atom.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(7)H(9)NO(2)S)]C(24)H(20)B, has been determined as part of our investigation into the structural and biological properties of organometallic Ru(II)-arene-Cp* complex salts of the type [R-PhRuCp*](+)·X(-) (where Cp* is penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene). Tethering the RuCp* group to the benzene ring of p-toluene-sulfonamide results in only minor changes to the mol-ecular geometry of the sulfonamide, but, together with crystallization as the [BPh(4)](-) salt, effectively blocks involvement of the sulfonamide group in N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding networks.

The mol-ecular structures of these complexes are quite similar, exhibiting a four-legged piano-stool geometry with trans-disposed carbonyl ligands. The extended structures of complexes (1) and (2) differ substanti-ally. For complex (1), the molybdenum acetyl unit plays a dominant role in the organization of the extended structure, joining the mol-ecules into centrosymmetrical dimers through C-H?O inter-actions with a cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand of a neighboring mol-ecule, and these dimers are linked into layers parallel to (100) by C-H?O inter-actions between the molybdenum acetyl and the cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand of another neighbor. The extended structure of (2) is dominated by C-H?O inter-actions involving the carbonyl groups of the acetamide groups of the DAPTA ligand, which join the mol-ecules into centrosymmetrical dimers and link them into chains along [010]. Additional C-H?O inter-actions between the molybdenum acetyl oxygen atom and an acetamide methyl group join the chains into layers parallel to (101).
