ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cd(C(7)H(4)ClO(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n), the Cd atom lies on a twofold axis and adopts a square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The water mol-ecule occupies the axial site with O atoms from four different 4-chloro-benzoato ligands in the equatorial plane. Pairs of 4-chloro-benzoato ligands bridge adjacent Cd(II) ions, generating an infinite chain structure along the c axis. Parallel polymeric chains are further inter-connected through water-acetate O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming layers in the bc plane.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(7)H(3)ClNO(4))(4)](n), the coordination geometry around each Cu(II) ion is distorted square-pyramidal. The CuO(5) coordination is formed by five O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of five 5-chloro-2-nitro-benzoate ligands. This coordination leads to the formation of centrosymmetric binuclear units which are edge-shared, forming a linear chain along the a axis, with the Cu(II) ions alternately separated by 2.5891?(4) and 3.1763?(4)?Å. The chains are inter-connected into a three-dimensional network by C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, {[Cd(C(19)H(13)N(4)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O}(n) or {[Cd(BBA)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O}(n), where BBA is 3,5-bis-(iso-nicotin-amido)-benzoate, is isotypic with its Mn isologue [Chen et al. (2009 ?). J. Coord. Chem.62, 2421-2428]. The cation sits on a twofold axis and is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry; the polyhedra are linked into zigzag chains, which are further connected by N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds as well as ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance of 3.639?(2)?Å], giving a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, {[Mn(C(11)H(14)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O}(n), the two independent Mn(II) atoms are located on a centre of symmetry and coordinated by two 4-(diethyl-amino)benzoate (DEAB) anions and two water mol-ecules in the basal plane while another water mol-ecule bridges the Mn atoms in the apical directions, forming polymeric chains. The dihedral angles between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 11.33?(13) and 10.90?(9)° and the benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 67.88?(6)°. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules link the carboxyl-ate groups and coordinated water mol-ecules via O-H?O hydrogen bonding. Weak C-H?? inter-actions are also found in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the crystal of the title Cd(II) polymeric complex, [Cd(C7H4ClO2)2(C10H14N2O)(H2O)] n , the Cd(II) cation is chelated by two chloro-benzoate anions and coordinated by two N,N-di--ethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted NO6 penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The Cd(II) cations are bridged by the pyridine N atom and carbonyl O atom of the DENA ligand to form a polymeric chain running along the b axis. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between coordinating water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups link adjacent chains into layers parallel to the bc plane. ?-? contacts between benzene rings [shortest centroid-centroid distance = 3.912?(2)?Å] further stabilizes the crystal structure. In the mol-ecule, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur between the pyridine ring and carboxyl-ate groups; the dihedral angles between the carboxyl-ate groups and adjacent benzene rings are 4.6?(3) and 12.8?(3)°, while the benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 1.89?(13)°.

Project description:In the title polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(4)ClO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Pb(II) ion displays a distorted pseudo-octa-hedral coordination geometry. The metal center is coordinated by six O atoms from four 5-chloro-salicylate ligands and two N atoms from a chelating phenanthroline ligand. The polymeric structure is built up from bridging carboxyl-ate O atoms, forming chains along [100]. Project description:In the title compound, [K2(C7H3Cl2O2)2(H2O)] n , the potassium salt of 2,4-di-chloro-benzoic acid, the repeating unit in the polymeric structure consists of two identical irregular KO6Cl units related by twofold rotational symmetry, linked by a bridging water mol-ecule lying on the twofold axis. The coordination polyhedron about the K(+) ion comprises a carboxyl-ate O atom and a Cl-atom donor from a bidentate chelate ligand inter-action, four O-atom donors from a doubly bridging bidentate carboxyl-ate O,O'-chelate inter-action and the water mol-ecule. A two-dimensional polymeric structure lying parallel to (100) is generated through a series of conjoined cyclic bridges between K(+) ions and is stabilized by water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, [Cd(C8H5O3)2(C4H4N2)(H2O)] n , contains two 4-formyl-benzoate (FB) anions, one pyrazine mol-ecule and one coordinating water mol-ecule; the FB anions act as bidentate ligands. The O atom, the aldehyde H atom and the benzene ring of one of the FB anions are disordered over two positions. The O atoms were freely refined [refined occupancy ratio 0.79?(2):0.21?(2)], while the aldehyde H atoms and the benzene ring atoms were refined with fixed occupancy ratios of 0.8:0.2 and 0.5:0.5, respectively. In the ordered FB anion, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted away from the attached benzene ring (A) by 22.7?(8)°. In the disordered FB anion, the corresponding angles are 15.6?(10) and 11.4?(11)° for rings B and B', respectively. Benzene rings A and B are oriented at a dihedral angle of 24.2?(7), A and B' at 43.0?(8)°. The pyrazine ring makes dihedral angles of 67.5?(4), 89.6?(7) and 86.2?(7)°, respectively, with benzene rings A, B and B'. The pyrazine ligands bridge the Cd(II) cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b-axis direction. In the crystal, O-Hwater ? Ocarboxyl-ate hydrogen bonds link adjacent chains into layers parallel to the bc plane. These layers are linked via C-Hpyrazine ? Oform-yl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. ?-? interactions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.870?(11)-3.951?(5)?Å] further stabilize the crystal structure. There is also a weak C-H?? inter-action present.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, [Co(C(7)H(4)IO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), contains one Co(II) cation, two iodo-benzoate anions and two water mol-ecules. One iodo-benzoate anion and one water mol-ecule bridge adjacent Co cations, forming a polymeric chain running along the a axis, while the other iodo-benzoate anion and water mol-ecule coordinate in a monodentate manner to the Co(II) cation, completing the slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the two independent anionic ligands, the carboxyl-ate groups are twisted away from the attached benzene rings by 51.38?(18) and 39.89?(11)°, and the two benzene rings are nearly perpendicular to each other with a dihedral angle of 86.09?(10)°. Intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between coordinating water mol-ecules and adjacent carboxyl-ate O atoms help to stabilize the mol-ecular structure. In the crystal, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the polymeric chains into a three-dimentional supra-molecular network.

Each dianion serves as a bridging ligand, connecting adjacent Pb(II) atoms into a centrosymmetric polymeric chain extending parallel to [001]. There are ?-? inter-actions between the aromatic systems of neighbouring dianions, with plane-to-plane distances of 3.371?(2)?Å, and between phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.484?(2)?Å. O-H?O hydrogen bonding additionally stabilizes the crystal packing. The acetic acid mol-ecules are incorporated in the voids of this arrangement. They exhibit half-occupancy due to disorder around a centre of inversion.

The layers are linked via C-Hpyrazine?Oform-yl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. There are also weak C-H?? inter-actions present.
