ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(N(3))(2)(C(10)H(14)N(3)O(2)S)(2)], the Ni(II) atom lies on an inversion center and adopts a distorted trans-NiO(2)N(4) octa-hedral geometry, coordinated by two N,O-bidentate 4,4,5,5-tetra-methyl-2-(5-methyl-imidazol-4-yl)-2-imidazoline-1-oxyl 3-oxide nitronyl nitroxide radical ligands and two monodentate azide anions.

The metal center is six-coordinated by two azide anions and by two chelating 4,4,5,5-tetra-methyl-2-(1,3-thia-zol-2-yl)-2-imidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide nitronyl nitroxide radical ligands, leading to two six-membered chelate rings.
