ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [Ag2Cl2(C10H8N2)(C18H15P)2] n , the Ag(I) cation is coordinated by a 4,4'-bi-pyridine N atom, a tri-phenyl-phosphane P atom and two Cl(-) anions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The 4,4-bi-pyridine and Cl(-) anions bridge the Ag(I) cations, forming polymeric chains running along [21-1]. In the crystal, weak C-H?Cl inter-actions link the polymeric chains into a three-dimensiona supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Ag(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)](ClO(4))(3)·2H(2)O}(n), one of the Ag(I) ions, one of the 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) ligands and one of the perchlorate anions are each situated on a twofold rotation axis. Each Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two bridging bipy ligands, forming chains along [101]. π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.638 (8) and 3.688 (8) Å] connect the chains. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the uncoord-inated water mol-ecules and the perchlorate anions.

Project description:The title compound, [CuCl2(C12H12N2)] n , was obtained via a DMSO-mediated dehydration of Cu(4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bi-pyridine)-copper(II)·0.25H2O. The central Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry by two N atoms of a chelating 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand [average Cu-N = 2.03 (3) Å] and three Cl atoms, one terminal with a short Cu-Cl bond of 2.2506 (10) Å, and two symmetry-equivalent and bridging bonds. The bridging Cl atom links the Cu(II) ions into chains parallel to [001] via one medium and one long Cu-Cl bond [2.3320 (10) and 2.5623 (9) Å]. The structure displays both inter- and intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title compound, [PdCl2(C18H24N2)]·(CH3)2SO·H2O, the Pd(II) ion is in a distorted square-planar geometry. The Pd-N bond distances are 2.022?(2) and 2.027?(2)?Å, the Pd-Cl bond distances are 2.2880?(7) and 2.2833?(7)?Å, and the ligand bite angle is 80.07?(9)°. The dimethyl sulfoxide and water mol-ecules form linear chains along [100] by O-H?O and O-H?S hydrogen bonds, generating eight- and 12-membered rings. C-H?Cl inter-actions link the chains, forming a three-dimensional arrangement. In addition, the 4,4-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand exhibits ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.8741?(15) and 3.8353?(15)?Å]. The DMSO solvent is disordered and was refined with an occupancy ratio of 0.866?(3):0.134?(3).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PdCl(C9H12NSe)(C18H15P)], contains two independent mol-ecules. In both cases, the Pd(2+) cations are coordinated by the Se and N atoms of the chelating bidentate 2-[(di-methyl-amino)-meth-yl]benzene-seleno-late ligand. The chloride ligand lies trans to selenium and the tri-phenyl-phosphane ligand is trans to nitro-gen. The Pd-Se bond lengths in the two independent coordination environments of Pd are 2.3801?(4) and 2.3852?(4)?Å, the Pd-P bond lengths are 2.2562?(8) and 2.2471?(8)?Å, the Pd-N bond lengths are 2.172?(2) and 2.158?(2)?Å, and the Pd-Cl bond lengths are 2.3816?(8) and 2.3801?(8)?Å. The square-planar coordination around one Pd(2+) cation is less distorted than that around the other.

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [Ag2(C14H22N4O2)(C18H15P)2(H2O)2](NO3)2, lies across an inversion center and consists of two [Ag(H2O)(PPh3)] units bridged by a bis-(cyclo-hexa-none)oxalydihydrazone ligand. The charge-balance is supplied by two nitrate anions. The symmetry-unique Ag(I) ion is in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry coordinated by a P atom from a tri-phenyl-phosphane ligand, an O atom from a water mol-ecule and a bis-(cyclo-hexa-none)oxalydihydrazone ligand bidentate chelating through the O atom and one of N atoms. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the components, forming chains along the b-axis direction. These chains are connected through weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a two-dimensional supra-molecular network parallel to (001).

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [CuCl(CH5N3S)(C18H15P)2]·0.48H2O, the Cu(I) ion is in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry formed by two P atoms from two tri-phenyl-phosphane ligands, one S atom from a thio-semicarbazide ligand and one chloride anion. An intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond [graph-set motif S(5)] stabilizes the thio-semicarbazide ligand in its anti conformation, and an intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond between the hydrazine N-H group and the chloride anion influences the arrangement and orientation of the ligands around the metal center. A weak intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond is also present. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are connected through N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds originating from the amide -NH2 group, and through O-H⋯S and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the solvent water mol-ecule. Both the direct N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds as well as the bridging hydrogen bonds mediated by the water mol-ecule connect the complex mol-ecules into zigzag chains that propagate along [010]. The solvent water mol-ecule is partially occupied, with a refined occupancy of 0.479 (7).

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the tetra-kis(tri-phenyl-phosphan-yl)disilver salt of butane-1,1,4,4-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid, [Ag2(C8H8O8)(C18H15P)4]·3CH2Cl2, crystallizes with one and a half mol-ecules of di-chloro-methane in the asymmetric unit. The coordination complex exhibits an inversion centre through the central CH2-CH2 bond. The Ag(I) atom has a distorted trigonal-planar P2O coordination environment. The packing is characterized by inter-molecular T-shaped π-π inter-actions between the phenyl rings of the PPh3 substituents in neighbouring mol-ecules, forming a ladder-type superstructure parallel to [010]. These ladders are arranged in layers parallel to (101). Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between the OH group and one O atom of the Ag-bonded carboxyl-ate group results in an asymmetric bidendate coordination of the carboxyl-ate moiety to the Ag(I) ion.

Project description:The title compound, [Co2{P(C6H5)2}2(C3H9P)4], was obtained by the addition of di-phenyl-phosphane to a solution of Co(CH3)(C3H9P)4. The dinuclear complex mol-ecule exhibits inversion symmetry with the inversion centre located between the two Co(I) atoms. The short Co-Co distance of 2.3670?(8)?Å lies within the range of metal-metal double bonds. As a result of inversion symmetry, the four-membered Co2P2 core is rigorously planar, and the two bridging P(C6H5)2-ligands and the terminal C3H9P ligands are arranged in a pseudo-tetra-hedral fashion about the Co(I) atom.
