ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title compound [Ti(2)Cl(6)(C(6)H(13)N(2))(2)(C(6)H(14)N(2))(2)]·2C(2)H(3)N, an inversion center relates the two Ti atoms which display a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. There are two uncoordinated acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules per mol-ecule of title compound in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [Ti2Cl4{CH3C(CH2O)2(CH2OH)}2], lies across a centre of symmetry with a diethyl ether solvent mol-ecule hydrogen bonded to the -CH2OH groups on either side of it. The Ti(IV) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by a tripodal ligand and two terminal chloride atoms. There are three coordination modes for the tripodal ligand distinguishable on the basis of their very different Ti-O bond lengths. For the terminal alkoxo ligand, the Ti-O distance is 1.760?(1)?Å, the asymmetric bridge system has Ti-O bond lengths of 1.911?(1) and 2.048?(1)?Å. The Ti-O bond length for the alcohol O atom is the longest at 2.148?(1)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, bis({6-ethylamino-10-[2-(methoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-2,7-dimethylxanthen-3-ylidene}ethanaminium) hexachloridotin(IV) acetonitrile disolvate, (C(27)H(29)N(2)O(3))(2)[SnCl(6)]·2C(2)H(3)N, the octa-hedral SnCl(6) (2-) anion lies on an inversion center. The xanthene ring system is essentially planar, with an average deviation of 0.020 Å, and the substituent benzene ring forms a dihedral angle of 85.89 (2)° with it. The Sn-Cl distances are in the range 2.4237 (3)-2.4454 (3) Å. There are N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds between SnCl(6) (2-) ions and rhodamine 6G cations as well as π-π stacking inter-actions between rhodamine 6G cations (inter-planar distance of 3.827 Å).

The coordination environment of the Zn(2+) ion is distorted square-pyramidal and it is coordinated by N(2)O(2) of the Schiff base ligand and chloride; each Pb(2+) ion is coordinated by the four 6,6'-dimeth-oxy-2,2'-[o-phenyl-ene-bis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate (L) O atoms and two chloride ions. The Zn(II)Pb(II) dinuclear unit, through an inversion-symmetry operation, forms a tetra-meric complex with double chloride bridges.

Project description:In the title structure, [Ti2(C16H16N2O2)2O2]·2CHCl3, the Ti atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by the O,N,N',O' donor set of the salalen ligand and by two μ2-oxide O atoms, which bridge two Ti(salalen) fragments into a centrosymmetric dimeric unit. In the central Ti2(μ2-O)2 fragment, the metal-oxygen distances are significantly different [1.7962 (19) and 1.9292 (19) Å]. In the crystal, the chloro-form mol-ecule is anchored via an N-H⋯Cl and a bifurcated C-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bond. Slipped π-π stacking [shortest C⋯C distance = 3.585 (4) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions contribute to the coherence of the structure.

Project description:1,2-Dimethyl-5-nitro-imidazole (dimetridazole, dimet) is a compound that belongs to a class of nitro-imidazole drugs that are effective at inhibiting the activity of certain parasites and bacteria. However, there are few reports that describe structures of compounds that feature metals complexed by dimet. Therefore, we report here that dimet reacts with CuCl2·H2O to yield a chloride-bridged copper(II) dimer, [Cu2Cl4(C5H7N3O2)4] or [Cu(μ-Cl)Cl(dimet)2]2. In this mol-ecule, the CuII ions are coordinated in an approximately trigonal-bipyramidal manner, and the mol-ecule lies across an inversion center. The dihedral angle between the imidazole rings in the asymmetric unit is 4.28 (7)°. Compared to metronidazole, dimetridazole lacks the hy-droxy-ethyl group, and thus cannot form inter-molecular O⋯H hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. Instead, [Cu(μ-Cl)Cl(dimet)2]2 exhibits weak inter-molecular inter-actions between the hydrogen atoms of C-H groups and (i) oxygen in the nitro groups, and (ii) the terminal and bridging chloride ligands. The unit cell contains four disordered aceto-nitrile mol-ecules. These were modeled as providing a diffuse contribution to the overall scattering by SQUEEZE [Spek (2015 ▸). Acta Cryst. C71, 9-18], which identified two voids, each with a volume of 163 Å3 and a count of 46 electrons, indicative of a total of four aceto-nitrile mol-ecules. These aceto-nitrile mol-ecules are included in the chemical formula to give the expected calculated density and F(000).

Project description:In the centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear title mol-ecule, [Sn(4)(C(6)H(5))(8)Cl(2)O(2)(OH)(2)]·2C(2)H(6)OS, the two independent tin(IV) atoms show distorted trigonal-bipyramidal SnC(2)O(3) and SnC(2)O(2)Cl coordination geometries. The four tin(IV) atoms are bridged by the hydroxo and oxo ligands, forming a ladder-like array of three edge-connected Sn(2)O(2) squares. The solvent mol-ecules are linked to the tetra-nuclear mol-ecule via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The crystal structure of [Co2Cl4(C17H18N2)2][CoCl2(C17H18N2)(H2O)] or [Co(L)Cl(μ-Cl)]2[Co(L)(Cl)2(OH2)], where L is the enanti-opure bidentate ligand (-)-5,6-pinenebi-pyridine (C17H18N2), has been determined. Crystals suitable for X-ray structure analysis were obtained by slow evaporation of an ethano-lic solution containing equimolar amounts of L and CoCl2·6H2O. The CoII cations all have a coordination number of five, and in each case the coordination polyhedron is a trigonal bipyramid. The Co-N bonds lengths range from 2.037 (7) to 2.195 (7) Å, and Co-Cl bonds lengths range from 2.284 (2) to 2.509 (2) Å. The asymmetric unit contains two discrete complexes, one dinuclear and the other mononuclear. Between the two mol-ecules, two types of inter-molecular inter-actions have been evidenced: π-π stackings involving the bi-pyridine units, and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds between the hydrogen atoms of the aqua ligand coordinating to the mononuclear complex and the non-bridging chlorido ligand coordinating to the dinuclear mol-ecule. These inter-actions lead to a two-dimensional supra-molecular arrangement parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(2)O(2)(C(10)H(24)N(4))(2)](C(24)H(20)B)(2)Cl·2CH(3)CN, is a mixed-valent Mn(III)/Mn(IV) oxide-bridged mangan-ese dimer with one chloride and two tetra-phenyl-borate counter-anions. There are two non-coordinated mol-ecules of acetonitrile in the formula unit. A center of inversion is present between the two metal atoms, and, consequently, there is no distinction between Mn(III) and Mn(IV) metal centers. In the Mn(2)O(2) core, the Mn-O distances are 1.817 (3) and 1.821 (3) Å. The cyclam ligand is in the cis configuration. The chloride counter-anion resides on a center of symmetry, whereas the tetra-phenyl-borate counter-anion is in a general position. The cyclam ligand is hydrogen bonded to the acetonitrile as well as to the chloride anion. One of the phenyl rings of the anion and the acetonitrile solvent molecule are each disordered over two sets of sites.
