ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ag(2)(C(12)H(7)N(3)O(2))(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)](SbF(6))(2), the two Ag(I) atoms are bridged by the two methyl-enebis(diphenyl-phosphine) ligands and an eight-membered centrosymmetric metallacyclic ring is formed. The metal atom exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry, coordinated by two P atoms of the bridging ligands and two N atoms of the chelating 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline ligand. The latter ligand shows minor disorder, adopting two orientations with site occupancy factors of 0.84 and 0.16.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], the Mn(II) atom in the centrosymmetric binuclear unit has a distorted octa-hedral geometry and is coordinated by a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two monodentate carboxyl-ate anions from two 4-nitro-phthalates and two coordinated water mol-ecules. The two Mn(II) ions in the mol-ecule are bridged by two 4-nitro-phthalate anions, both in a bis-monodentate mode, which finally leads to the formation of the binuclear unit. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated and uncoordinated O atoms of one monodentate carboxyl-ate group and the corresponding coordinated water mol-ecules result in an eight-membered and two six-membered rings. Project description:The title complex, [Mn(2)(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The structure contains two independent Mn(II) atoms, each coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral MnN(2)O(4) geometry. [Mn(2)(phen)(2)] units (phen = 1,10-phenantroline) are bridged by 5-nitro-isophthalate (nip) ligands into ladder-like chains parallel to [100]. Adjacent polymeric chains are linked by C-H⋯O and π-π inter-actions [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.6369 (12) Å] into a two-dimensional framework parallel to (010).

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4)·6H(2)O, was obtained unexpectedly during an attempt to synthesize a cadmium complex with bidentate bridging sulfate ligands via hydro-thermal synthesis. The Cd(II) metal ion is six-coordinated by two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two water mol-ecules, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral geometry for the metal ion. The two chelating N(2)C(2) groups are almost perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle = 86.75?(2)°]. In the crystal, the [Cd(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) complex cations join with the sulfate anions through two O(water)-H?O(sulfate) hydrogen bonds. These ion pairs are further inter-linked into a two-dimensional supermolecular structure via additional O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The structure of the the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(7)H(3)ClO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, consists of a dimeric unit involving a planar Cu(2)O(2) group arranged around an inversion center. The coordination sphere of the Cu(II) atom can be described as an elongated distorted square pyramid where the basal plane is formed by the two N atoms of the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule and the two O atoms of the hydroxy-chloro-benzoate (hcbe) anion. The long apical Cu-O distance of 2.569 (2) Å involves the O atom of a symmetry-related hcbe anion, building up the dinuclear unit. Each dinuclear unit is connected through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving two water mol-ecules, resulting in an R(4) (2)(8) graph-set motif and building up an infinite chain parallel to (10). C-H⋯O inter-actions further stabilize the chain.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4)·6H(2)O, the complex cations assemble into positively charged sheets parallel to (010) via inter-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions with a mean interplanar distance of 3.410?(6) along [100] and 3.465?(5)?Å along [001]. The sulfate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are inter-connected between these layers by hydrogen bonds, forming negatively charged layers which are linked to the positive layers through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional architecture. Both the positive and negative sheets are stacked along [010] in an ?ABAB? sequence, the A layers being shifted by 1/2a along [100] with respect to the B layers. One of the uncoordinated water molecules is equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:The title copper coordination polymer, [Cu(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(8)H(5)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), was synthesized by reacting Cu(NO(3))(2), isophthalic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline under hydro-thermal conditions. The trinuclear unit presents a central almost planar CuO(4) chromophore with the cation on a symmetry center, and two symmetry-related CuN(2)O(3) groups with the metal centre in a distorted square-pyramidal environment. These units are bridged by isophthalate ligands into one-dimensional double-chain coordination polymers which are, in turn, connected by various π-π stacking inter-actions (face-to-face distance ca 3.45 Å) and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Given that the Zn-O interactions [2.4926?(15) and 2.6673?(15)?Å] can be considered as weakly bonding and the nitrate ions share the same C(2) axis of the Zn(dpp)(2) fragment (dpp is 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline), these anions belong to the coordination sphere of Zn(2+), leading to a complex with an overall coordination number of 8 for the metal ion.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], each of the two five-coordinated Zn(II) atoms displays a strongly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by two N atoms from the chelate ligand and by one terminal and two bridging chloride anions. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. There is inter-molecular π-π stacking between adjacent phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.151 (3) Å.
