ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Mn(C(5)H(11)NO(2))(3)]·MnBr(4), contains polymeric cationic chains of distorted MnO(6) octa-hedra and bridging betaine mol-ecules, running parallel to the a axis. There are two distinct Mn(2+) cations in the chain, both with site symmetry . Distorted [MnBr(4)](2-) tetra-hedra occupy the spaces between the chains.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound {(C6H18N2)2[Sb2Br10]·H2O} n , consists of two tetra-methyl-ethylendi-ammonium cations that are located on centres of inversion, as well as one tetra-methyl-ethylendi-ammonium cation, one water mol-ecule, one distorted octahedral [SbBr6](3-)anion and one bisphenoidal [SbBr4](-) anion in general positions. The [SbBr6](3-) and [SbBr4](-) anions are linked together by two long Sb-Br bonds of 3.2709 (8) and 3.5447 (7) Å into {[Sb2Br10](4-)} n chains along [001]. One of the three tetra-methyl-ethylendi-ammonium cations is disordered and was refined using a split model (occupancy ratio 0.58:0.42). The cations and the water mol-ecule are connected to the {[Sb2Br10](4-)} n polymeric anions by weak N-H ⋯Br and O(water)-H ⋯Br hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title compound, {[Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](C(9)H(7)O(3))(2)·2H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the hydro-thermal reaction of manganese chloride with mixed 3-hydroxy-lcinnamic acid (H(2)L) and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) ligands. The structure contains [Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](2+) cations with the Mn(II) atoms lying on a centres of inversion and bridged into a linear chain along the a axis by 4,4'-bipy ligands, surrounded by HL(-) anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding and weak ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7572 ?(3)?Å] between the constituents lead to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The title compound, Mn(4)(H(2)O)(4)[Ge(OH)(2)(HPO(4))(2)(PO(4))(2)], was synthesized by the solvothermal method. Its crystal structure is isotypic with the iron and cobalt analogues [Huang et al. (2012 ?). Inorg. Chem.51, 3316-3323]. In the crystal structure, the framework is built from undulating manganese phosphate sheets parallel to (010) inter-connected by GeO(6) octa-hedra (at the inversion center), resulting in a three-dimensional network with eight-membered ring channels into which all the protons point. The undulating manganese phosphate sheet consists of zigzag manganese octa-hedral chains along [10-1], built from MnO(4)(OH)(OH(2)) octa-hedra and MnO(5)(OH(2)) octa-hedra by sharing their trans or skew edges, which are inter-connected by PO(3)(OH) and PO(4) tetra-hedra via corner-sharing. The crystal structure features extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, {(C4H12N)[Mn(HCO2)3]} n , the Mn(II) atom lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by O-atom donors from the three double-bridging formate ligands, one of which lies across a crystallographic mirror plane, giving a slightly distorted octahedral coordination sphere. A three-dimensional NaCl-type framework is generated in which the tetra-methyl-ammonium cations, which lie across mirror planes and occupy the cavities in the polymer structure, form weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds with the formate ligands.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)Br(3)(C(11)H(9)N(2)O(2))](n), was one of three isolated by slow evaporation of an acetonitrile reaction mixture of CuBr(2) with di-2-pyridyl ketone (1:1 molar ratio). The title complex contains a 2:1 metal-to-ligand ratio of copper(II) with the hydrated form of the ligand, di-2-pyridylmethane-diol. The two copper centers are bridged by a bromide ion and the alk-oxy O atom, and the Cu-Cu distance is 2.9801?(5)?Å. The dimeric units are further linked by bromide ions, leading to a two-dimensional extended bridged structure. O-H?O hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.

These result in a zigzag chain running along the c axis. The lone pair is stereochemically inactive.
