ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [CuI(C(13)H(14)N(4)S)](n), the Cu(I) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two N,N'-bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)thio-urea ligands, as well as by the S atom of a third ligand and an I atom to confer a distorted tetra-hedral coordination at the metal centre. The coordination bonds give rise to a layer structure parallel to (010).

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), square-pyramidally coordinated Cu(II) ions are linked into [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)](n) coordination polymer chains by isophthalate dianions. These chains are connected into undulating [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)(3-bpmp)](n) [3-bmp is bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine] layers by 3-bpmp tethering ligands. The pseudo three-dimensional structure of the title compound is fostered by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and unligated isophthalate O atoms. The selected crystal was non-merohedrally twinned. Only reflections from the major twin component were used in the solution and refinement.

The axial thio-cyanate ligands act in a μ(1,3)-bridging mode to connect symmetry-related Cd(II) ions into one-dimensional chains along [010]. In addition, there are inter-molecular C-H⋯O contacts between chains.

Project description:In the title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(16)H(20)N(4))](n), tetra-hedrally coordinated divalent Zn atoms are ligated by two Cl atoms and two N-donor atoms from two 1,4-bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)-piperazine (3-bpmp) ligands. The tethering 3-bpmp ligands promote the formation of [ZnCl(2)(3-bpmp)](n) chains situated parallel to (02). These chains aggregate via C-H⋯Cl inter-actions to form supra-molecular layers, which in turn stack to construct the three-dimensional crystal structure.

Project description:The binuclear title complex, [Cu2I2(C26H24P2)2(C5H12N2S)2], lies about an inversion centre. The Cu(I) atom displays a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry defined by one S atom of an N,N'-di-ethyl-thio-urea ligand, two P atoms derived from two bridging 1,2-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)ethane (dppe) ligands and one iodide ion. The dppe ligand bridges two symmetry-related Cu(I) ions, forming a 10-membered Cu2P4C4 ring. An intra-molecular N-H⋯I hydrogen bond is noted. In the crystal, N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds link complex mol-ecules into layers parallel to (-101).

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Ag(2)(NCS)(2)(C(27)H(26)P(2))(2)](n), two centrosymmetrically related Ag(+) cations are linked by two thio-cyanate anions into binuclear eight-membered macrocycles. The Ag⋯Ag separation within the macrocycle is 5.4400 (6) Å. The distorted tetra-hedral coordination about each metal atom is completed by the P atoms of two bridging 1,3-bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)propane ligands, forming polymeric ribbons parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The title complex, {[Cu(CH(4)N(2)S)(3)]I·0.5CH(3)CN}(n), was formed by the reaction of CuI and thio-urea in acetonitrile. There are two independent Cu(I) ions in the asymmetric unit which are coordinated by two terminal and two bridging thio-urea ligands to form a one-dimensional helical chain structure progagating in the a-axis direction. Each Cu(I) ion is in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak N-H⋯S and N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title polymeric complex, {[Ag(2)Cl(CH(4)N(2)S)(2)]NO(3)}(n), consists of a binuclear cationic complex and a nitrate counter-ion. The cationic complex contains two bridging thio-urea (Tu) ligands and a triply bridging μ(3)-Cl anion. The latter is probably released from 2-amino-ethane-thiol hydro-chloride during the synthesis. The coordination environment around the two Ag(I) atoms is different; one is trigonal planar, being coordinated by two thio-urea ligands through the S atoms and to one Cl(-) ion, while in the other the Ag(I) atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two thio-urea ligands through the S atoms and to two Cl(-) ions. These units aggregate through the Cl(-) anion and the Tu S atoms, forming a chain propagating in [100]. In the crystal structure, the polymeric chains are linked via N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a double layer two-dimensional network propagating in (011).

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {(C(12)H(14)N(2))[Fe(NCS)(4)]}(n), the iron(II) cation is coordinated by four N-bonded and two S-bonded thio-cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral coordination mode. The asymmetric unit consists of half an iron(II) cation and half a protonated (E)-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication, each located on a centre of inversion. In addition, there are two thio-cyanate anions in general positions. The crystal structure consists of Fe-(NCS)(2)-Fe chains in which each iron(II) cation is additionally coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions. Non-coordinating dipyridinium dications are present between the thiocyanatoferrate(II) chains and are connected to the anions via N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen-bond interactions.

Project description:The title dimethyl-tin diisothio-cyanate adduct of 4,4'-bipyridine, [Sn(CH(3))(2)(NCS)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), adopts a chain motif in which the N-heterocycle functions as a bridge to adjacent all-trans octa-hedrally coordinated tin atoms. The Sn(IV) atom lies on a special position of 2/m site symmetry, the methyl C atom on a special position of 2 site symmetry, and the thio-cyanate and 4,4'-bipyridine on a special position of m site symmetry.
