Poly[[μ-1,4-anhydro-erythritolato-di-μ-aqua-sodium(I)] monohydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Na(C(4)H(7)O(3))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), the sodium ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by two bridging 1,4-anhydro-erythritolate ligands, unexpectedly coordinated by the ring oxygen and four water ligands. This bonding pattern leads to one-dimensional anti-tactical polymeric chains along [010]. One of the exocyclic O atoms of the anhydro-erythritolate group is an acceptor in four hydrogen bonds, giving further evidence that it is deprotonated.

Project description:The title complex, [CoNa(CO5P)(H2O)5]n, was obtained by reacting sodium phosphono-formate with cobalt nitrate. The complex contains cobalt(II) and sodium ions, which are bridged by the O atoms of two aqua ligands. The Co(II) ion is octahedrally coordinated by three phosphonoformato ligands (one bi- and the other monodentate) and by two O atoms from the bridging aqua ligands. The sodium cation is hexa-coordinated by six O atoms from four bridging and two terminal aqua ligands. The complex mol-ecules are linked to give a three-dimensional structure by phosphono-formate ligands bridging Co(II) atoms and water mol-ecules establishing cobalt-sodium bridges. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and all O atoms of the phosphono-formato ligand and neighbouring aqua ligands help to consolidate the packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(2)(C(12)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(14)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), the coordination polyhedron around each Cd(II) ion is a distorted CdNO(5) octa-hedron. The water O atom has site symmetry 2 and the complete 1,1'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)diimidazole (L) ligand is generated by inversion. The naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate and L ligands bridge the metal centres, forming a three-dimensional framework, which is consolidated by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:A monoclinic polymorph of the title compound, {[BaCu(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(5)]·H(2)O}(n), is reported. The structure is best described as a coordination polymer where the Cu(II) and Ba(II) centers are coordinated by five and nine O atoms, respectively, in capped quadratic antiprismatic and tetragonal pyramidal geometries. The polymerization arises due to the presence of bridging mono- and bidentate oxalate ligands as well as bridging water mol-ecules. The crystal structure is consolidated by a three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Na(C(9)H(6)O(3))(H(2)O)(3)](C(9)H(5)O(3))·H(2)O}(n), contains two crystallographically independent Na atoms, two 7-hy-droxy-coumarin ligands, six coordinated water mol-ecules, two 7-hy-droxy-coumarin anions and two uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Both Na atoms exhibit a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and are coordinated by five water O atoms and the terminal O atom from a 7-hy-droxy-coumarin ligand. Four of the water mol-ecules are bridging, whereas the fifth is terminal. Na-O bond distances are in the range 2.288 (2)-2.539 (2) Å. In the chains, extending parallel to [100], adjacent Na atoms are separated by 3.60613 (7) Å. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules and 7-hy-droxy-coumarin phenolate anions are located between the chains and are hydrogen bonded to the chains.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a new coordination polymer of benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate with cadmium(II) and 1,10-phenanthroline. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule, three O atoms from two crystallographically independent benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule, forming a heavily distorted octa-hedron. The 1,10-phenanthroline ligand is approximately planar within 0.073 (4) Å. The two different benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands each coordinate to two Cd(II) ions in bidentate and monodentate modes, forming an infinite zigzag chain. Adjacent chains are packed tightly by strong π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.851 (2) and 3.859 (2) Å] between the aromatic rings of the benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and the 1,10-phenanthroline of a neighboring chain, forming a sheet parallel to (011). Different sheets are linked together via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and the O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a three-dimensional network.

Poly[μ-aqua-di-μ-benzoato-lead(II)].

Project description:The reaction of lead(II) nitrate and benzoic acid in aqueous solution yields the title polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one Pb(II) ion, two benzoate ligands and one water mol-ecule. The Pb-O bond distances are in the range 2.494 (4)-2.735 (4) Å. The Pb⋯Pb distance is 4.0683 (4) Å, indicating an insignificant metal-metal inter-action. The Pb(II) atom has a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry chelated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The Pb atoms are bridged through a coordinating water mol-ecule and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from another two benzoate ligands, giving an infinite three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involved the coordinating water and carboxyl-ate O atoms enhance the stability of the supra-molecular arrangement.

Project description:The structure of the title polymer, }[Mg(C6H14N2O6P2)(H2O)4]·0.5H2O} n , is based on centrosymmetric MgO6 octahedra, which are linked by [(piperazine-1,4-diium-1,4-di-yl)bis-(methyl-ene)]di-phospho-nate ligands, forming chains parallel to [1-1-1]. These chains are connected via hydrogen bonds primarily formed between the phospho-nate groups and water mol-ecules. The latter constitute four of the corners of the MgO6 polyhedra and bind to the O atoms of the phospho-nate groups of neighbouring chains. The lattice water molecule is disordered around an inversion centre, exhibiting an occupancy of 0.25.

The Zn(II) ion is four-coordinated by two O atoms from two carboxlate ligands, two N atoms from two imidazole ligands. Two Zn(II) ions are bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups in chelating mode, generating a binuclear secondary building unit (SBU), which is further coordinated by two N atoms from two imidazole ligands in monodentate mode. Thus, the binuclear SBUs are further bridged by imidazole ligands in two different directions, giving rise to a chain. The water solvent mol-ecules are hydrogen bonded within the chain along the c axis.
