ABSTRACT: In the title complex, {[HgI(2)(C(17)H(13)N(5)O(2))]·C(3)H(7)NO}(n), the Hg atom is coordinated by two I atoms and two N atoms from two different ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral environment. Hg atoms are bridged by N,N'-di-3-pyridylpyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide ligands, forming a helical chain running along the a axis.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, {[MnCl(C(18)H(14)N(4)O)(2)(H(2)O)]Cl·C(3)H(7)NO·H(2)O}(n), obtained by the solvothermal reaction of BIDPE and manganese(II) salt in H(2)O/DMF (DMF is dimethyl-formamide), is composed of a chain of [Mn(2)(BIDPE)(2)] [BIDPE is 1,1'-(oxydi-p-phenyl-ene)di-1H-imidazole] metallocyclic rings that exhibit inversion symmetry. The coordination about the Mn(II) ions is distorted octahedral with a MnClN(4)O coordination set. In the crystal, the polymeric chains are linked by O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (100). A number of C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O inter-actions are also present.

Project description:The title polymeric complex, [HgI(2)(C(10)H(14)N(2))](n), was prepared from a solution of nicotine, mercury(II) iodide and 4-cyano-pyridine in dimethyl-formamide. Each nicotine mol-ecule is bonded to two Hg atoms, one through the pyrrolidine N atom and the other through the pyridine N atom, forming infinite zigzag polymeric chains. The coordin-ation around mercury is completed by two iodide ligands, resulting in a distorted tetra-hedral arrangement.

The coordination geometry around Cd(II) is distorted octa-hedral and the intra-chain Cd⋯Cd distance is 5.842 (1) Å. C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds exist between the parallel polymeric chains.

In the crystal structure, the H atoms of both water mol-ecules are involved in inter-molecular hydrogen bonds with the O atoms of uncoordinated carboxyl-ate groups, which link chains into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title extended solid coordination compound, {[Fe(C(44)H(40)N(2)O(4)P(2))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO}(n), was crystallized un-ex-pectedly from the reaction mixture containing the Trost ligand (1R,2R)-(+)-1,2-diamino-cyclo-hexane-N,N'-bis-(2'-di-phenyl-phosphinobenzo-yl) and Fe(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O in a 1:1 ratio in dimethyl-formamide (DMF) under reflux conditions. The polymeric complex is characterized by Fe(II) metal centers that are coordinated by two oxidized Trost ligands, each coordinated in a bidentate fashion in a square plane, along with two DMF mol-ecules above and below the plane [average Fe-O(DMF) = 2.086 (4) Å], forming an overall pseudo-octa-hedral geometry. The Trost ligand binds adjacent Fe(II) centers, each Fe(II) being bound through the O atom of one of the phosphine oxides [average Fe-O(PPh2) = 2.115 (4) Å] and the carbonyl O atom of the adjacent amide [average Fe-O(amide) = 2.192 (3) Å]. Disorder is observed in the co-solvated solvent: there are two DMF mol-ecules per Fe(II) centre, which were modeled as one DMF mol-ecule with complete occupancy and the other being modeled in two positions with equal occupancy. Disorder was also observed with one of the perchlorate anions, which was modeled in two positions with 0.75:0.25 occupancy.
