ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title compound, [Co(C(10)H(5)F(4)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], cobalt(II) forms a complex with two 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(4-fluoro-phen-yl)butane-1,3-dionate anions and two pyridine mol-ecules in an octa-hedral coordination environment, where the two dionate ligands are in equatorial positions and the two pyridine mol-ecules in axial positions. The complex is located on a crystallographic inversion centre.

Project description:In the title mononuclear coordination complex, [CuFe(C(5)H(5))(C(9)H(5)F(3)O(2))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)], the Cu(I) ion is coordinated by the chelating β-diketonate 1-ferrocenyl-4,4,4-trifluoro-butane-1,3-dione ligand through two O atoms and the two datively bonded triphenyl-phosphane ligands resulting in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination sphere. The Cu(I) ion, together with its chelating butane-1,3-dione group, is mutually coplanar [greatest displacement of an atom from this plane = 0.037 (1) Å], and the Cu(I) ion lies slightly above [0.013 (1) Å] the plane. The overall geometry, including the bond distances and angles within the complex, corresponds to those of other reported copper(I) β-diketon-ates featuring organic groups at the β-diketonate ligand.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, K[Eu(C(5)HF(6)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(6)F(3)O(2))(2)], the Eu(III) ion is in a slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination geometry which is defined by eight O atoms of the anionic ?-diketone ligands. The two K(+) ions lie on crystallographic inversion centers. The Eu-O bond distances are in the range 2.294?(5)-2.413?(5)?Å. The crystal used was a non-merohedral twin, the ratio of the twin domains being 0.5236?(5):0.4764?(5).

The selenadiazole plane is canted at 73.13 (17)° to the square plane defined by the penta-nedionate O atoms. The F atoms of one of the hp ligands are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.66 (3):0.34 (3) ratio. There are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal.

The coordination geometry of the Cu(II) atom is octa-hedral, exhibiting a typical Jahn-Teller distortion. One trifluoro-methyl group is rotationally disordered between two orientations in a 1:1 ratio.

In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8924 (17) Å] into a chain along [010]. Between adjacent chains, π-π inter-actions occur between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.898 (2) Å], giving an overall two-dimensional architecture.
