Project description:Crystals of the title compound, (C(6)H(5)CH(2)CH(2)NH(3))(2)[CoCl(4)], were grown by the solvent-evaporation method. This inorganic-organic hybrid compound exhibits a layered structure in which isolated CoCl(4) inorganic layers alternate with bilayers of phenylethylammonium cations. Although the inorganic anion is zero-dimensional, the layered structure is stabilized via N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The CoCl(4) tetra-hedra connect to the cations through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, building a two-dimensional network extending parallel to (010).

Project description:The structure of the electrochemically crystallized title compound, (C(10)H(8)S(8))(3)[CoCl(4)](2), consists of two types of bis-(ethyl-enedithio)tetra-thia-fulvalene (BEDT-TTF) radical cation stacks separated by sheets of tetra-hedral [CoCl(4)](2-) anions. One of the BEDT-TTF mol-ecules is generated by inversion. There are short S?S contacts between the stacks in the a direction and short C-H?Cl contacts between the radical cations and the anions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(CH(3)CN)(2)(H(2)O)(4)][CoCl(4)], the Co(II) ions are octa-hedrally coordinated in the cation, with trans-disposed acetonitrile ligands, and tetra-hedrally coordinated in the anion. An extensive network of O-H(water)?Cl hydrogen bonds between cations and anions connects the ions into a three-dimensional network. The Co-Cl distances correlate with the number of hydrogen bonds accepted by the Cl atoms.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [(CH(3))(2)NH(CH(2))(2)NH(CH(3))(2)][CoCl(4)], contains a tetra-chlorido-cobalt-ate(II) dianion and two halves of two centrosymmetric, crystallographically-independent, dications. One independent dication is disordered between two conformations in a 0.784?(13):0.216?(13) ratio. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link cations and anions into chains propagated in [01]. These hydrogen bonds contribute to the distorted tetra-hedral geometry at the Co(II) atom.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(10)H(28)N(4))[CoCl(4)]Cl(2), contains two half-mol-ecules of the macrocycle, which are both completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry. In the dianion, the Co(2+) cation is tetra-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms; the Co-Cl bond lengths correlate with the number of hydrogen bonds that the chloride ions accept. The crystal cohesion is supported by electrostatic inter-actions which, together with numerous N-H?Cl, N-H?(Cl,Cl) and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, lead to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title complex, (C(5)H(6)ClN(2))(C(7)H(8)NO)[CoCl(4)], the Co(II) ions are tetra-hedrally coordinated. The crystal structure is built from hydrogen-bonded centrosymmetric tetra-mers of tetra-chloridocobaltate(II) dianions and 3-amino-2-chloro-pyridinium cations, additionally strengthened by significant ?-? stacking of pyridinium rings [interplanar distance 3.389?(3)?Å]. The tetra-mers are linked by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into chains; the second kind of cations, viz. 2-acetyl-pyridinium, are connected by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds to both sides of the chain. The Co-Cl bond lengths in the dianion correlate with the number of hydrogen bonds accepted by the Cl atom. An intramolecular C-H?Cl interaction is also present.

Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title structure, [CoCl2(C3H11NOP)4][CoCl4]2, consists of one half of the trans-dichlorido-tetra-kis-[(di-methyl-phosphor-yl)methanaminium]cobalt(II) tetra-cation lying on an inversion center and one tetra-chloridocobaltate(II) dianion on a general position. Four O-coordinated cationic (di-methyl-phosphor-yl)methanaminium (dpmaH(+)) ligands occupy the equatorial coordination sites, whereas the chloride ligands occupy axial positions of the roughly o-cta-hedral coordination polyhedron of the cobalt metal center. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between the aminium groups and the O atom of the phosphoryl groups and additional hydrogen bonds between the aminium groups and the chloride ligands are present. Furthermore, four of the six H atoms not involved in intra-molecular bonding of each cobalt(II) tetra-cation form weak hydrogen bonds to four adjacent tetra-chloridocobaltate(II) counter-anions. By these inter-molecular hydrogen bonds, one-dimensional polymeric strands are formed along the b-axis direction. The hydrogen bonding is analyzed using the graph-set method and the structural similarity with dpmaHCl is discussed.

Project description:The Hg atom in the crystal structure of the title compound, (CH(6)N(3))(2)[HgI(4)], is tetra-hedrally coordinated by four I atoms. The [HgI(4)](2-) ions are inter-connected to the [C(NH(2))(3)](+) ions by N-H?I hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. The four different observed Hg-I distances [2.760?(2), 2.7762?(15), 2.8098?(14) and 2.833?(2)?Å] are consistent with four different (127)I NQR frequencies observed, showing the existence of four unique I atoms in the tetra-iodidomercurate unit.
