ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Ni(II)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](2)[Mo(IV)(CN)(8)]·2H(2)O, crystallized from a mixture of ethane-1,2-diamine (en), octa-cyano-molybdate(IV), [Mo(CN)(8)](4-), and the transition metal ion Ni(2+). In the crystal structure, the Mo polyhedron has a square-anti-prismatic shape, while the geometry around the Ni atom is distorted octa-hedral. The complex ions and water mol-ecules are linked by hydrogen bonds.

In the crystal structure, each Mo polyhedron has a square-anti-prismatic shape, while the Co complexes show distorted octa-hedral geometry with an occupancy of 50%. One of the Co atoms resides on a crystallographic inversion centre.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](2)[Mo(CN)(8)]·5H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by six N atoms from three ethane-1,2-diamine ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry, while the Mo(IV) atom is coordianted by eight cyanide ligands. The Ni-N bond distances range from 2.1061?(18) to 2.1425?(18)?Å. The Mo-C and C-N distances in the [Mo(CN)(8)] unit range from 2.154?(2) to 2.174?(2)?Å and 1.149?(3) to 1.156?(3)?Å, respectively. The complex ions and water mol-ecules are linked by weak N-H?N/O and O-H?N/O hydrogen bonds into a three-demensional structure.

Two of the en ligands surrrounding the Ni(2+) ion have disordered C atoms, while the third exhibits extensive weak N-H⋯I inter-actions with the two iodide ions that extend throughout the crystalline lattice, producing an infinite network along (011).

The Mo(IV) atom is coordinated by eight cyanide ligands, one of which forms a bridge to a Co(II) atom that is itself coordinated by two bidentate ethane-1,2-diamine (en) ligands and one water mol-ecule. Another Co(II) complex, coordinated to three bidentate en ligands, acts as the counter-ion. The crystal structure contains O-H⋯N/O, N-H⋯N/O and C-H⋯N/O hydrogen bonds, which form a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(H(2)NCH(2)CH(2)NH(2))(3)](CF(3)COO)(2), the environment of the Cu atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by six N atoms from three chelating ethane-1,2-diamine ligands. The Cu-N distances range from 2.050 (2) to 2.300 (2) Å. This complex cation and the two trifluoro-acetate anions are connected by weak N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. In both anions, the F atoms are disordered over two positions; in one the site-occupancy factors are 0.55 and 0.45, in the other the values are 0.69 and 0.31.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The ionic title complex, [Ni(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](SiF(6)), is built up of [Ni(en)(3)](2+) complex cations (en = 1,2-diamino-ethane) and hexa-fluoridosilicate anions. Single crystals of the title complex were isolated from an aqueous-ethano-lic Ni(2+)-en-SiF(6) (2-) system. The Ni(II) and Si atoms are each located on a special position with site symmetry 3.2. The Ni(II) atom coordination sphere is octa-hedrally deformed, being coordinated by three chelating diamine ligands with an Ni-N distance of 2.1233?(18)?Å. The crystal packing of the respective ions corresponds to the structure type of the hexa-gonal form of BN. Beside ionic forces, the packing is governed by N-H?F hydrogen bonds, which lead to the formation of hydro-phobic channels running along the 6(3) screw axis. The structure was refined as an inversion twin [0.49?(3): 0.51?(3)].

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(2)H(8)N(2))(C(6)H(18)N(4))]S(2)O(3)·3H(2)O, was accidentally synthesized under solvothermal conditions applying [Ni(en)(3)]Cl(2) (en is ethane-1,2-diamine) as the Ni source. The asymmetric unit consists of one discrete [Ni(tren)(en)](2+) complex [tren is N,N-bis-(2-amino-eth-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine] in which the Ni(2+) cation is sixfold coord-inated within a slightly distorted octa-hedron, one thio-sulfate anion and three water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the complex cations, anions and water mol-ecules are linked by an intricate hydrogen-bonding network. One C atom of the tren ligand, as well as one O atom of a water mol-ecule, are disordered over two sites and were refined using a split model (occupancy ratios = 0.85:15 and 0.60:0.40, respectively).
