Tris(ethane-1,2-diamine-?N,N')nickel(II) 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](C(8)H(4)O(5))·H(2)O, contains one [Ni(en)(3)](2+) cation (en is ethane-1,2-diamine), one 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate dianion and one water mol-ecule. In the cation, the Ni(2+) ion is coordinated by six N atoms from three ethyl-enediamine ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The complex ions and water mol-ecules are linked by weak N-H?N/O and O-H?N/O hydrogen bonds into a three-demensional structure.
