Cis-Bis-[2-(diphenyl-phosphino)benzene-thiolato-?P,S]palladium(II).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Pd(C(18)H(14)PS)(2)], was synthesized by the reaction of (Ph(2)PC(6)H(4)SH) with [PdCl(2)(NCC(6)H(5))(2)] in a 2:1 molar ratio in the presence of a slight excess of NEt(3 )as base in dichloro-methane. The compound crystallizes with the Pd(II) atom on a twofold rotation axis. The palladium center has a slightly distorted square-planar environment, with the two P-S chelating ligands adopting a cis configuration. The present structure is a pseudo-polymorph of [Pd(C(18)H(14)PS)(2)]·CH(2)Cl(2).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Pd(2)(NO(3))(4)(C(58)H(52)N(2)P(4))], contains one half-mol-ecule, in which the central benzene ring is located on a crystallographic centre of inversion. The Pd atom has a distorted square-planar coordination consisting of two P and two O atoms. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into chains, and ?-? contacts between the phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.928?(3)?Å] may further stabilize the structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(26)H(22)P(2))(2)][CuCl(2)], is composed of discrete Cu(dppey)(2)](+) cations [dppey is cis-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethene] and [CuCl(2)](-) anions. The tetra-hedral Cu(P-P)(2) core of the [Cu(dppey)(2)](+) cation is distorted, with Cu-P bond lengths ranging from 2.269?(1) to 2.366?(1)?Å. The five-membered -Cu-P-CH=CH-P- rings adopt envelope conformations, with the Cu atom lying 0.38 and 0.65?Å out of the P-C=C-P planes. The Cu-Cl distances in the [CuCl(2)](-) anion are 2.094?(2) and 2.096?(2)?Å, with a Cl-Cu-Cl angle of 176.81?(7)°.

[Bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane-?P,P']dichloridopalladium(II).

Project description:The title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))], is a slightly distorted square-planar bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane cis-complex of PdCl(2). The structure of a polymorph of the title compound has been described earlier, but the arrangement of the mol-ecules observed in the current structure is distinctively different from that previously reported [Steffen & Palenik (1976 ?). Inorg. Chem.15, 2432-2439]. The earlier report describes a structure with individual well separated mol-ecules crystallizing in space group P2(1)/n. The polymorph described here, which is isostructrural to its Pt analogue [Babai et al. (2006 ?). Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem.632, 639-644], crystallizes in C2/c with chains of C2-symmetric mol-ecules stretching parallel to the b axis. The Pd atoms and the bis-phosphino-methane units are located on two different positions created by a non-crystallographic mirror operation with an occupancy of 0.6677?(11) for the major (PCH(2)P)Pd moiety. The positions of the Cl atoms of the minor moiety do coincide perfectly with those of the next mol-ecule along the chain parallel to b, and they are thus not included in the disorder. The phenyl rings also do not take part in the disorder and are common to both the major and minor moieties of the (PCH(2)P)PdCl(2) units. Assuming no defects, mol-ecules in each chain will thus have to be oriented the same way and the effect of the disorder of the (PCH(2)P)Pd unit is thus a reversal in direction of the chains parallel to b. The presence of light streaks of intensity between actual Bragg peaks indicates that a somehow ordered arrangement not resolved in the Bragg diffraction data may be present (i.e. an incommensurate superstructure) rather than a random or domain arrangement of the chains.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Pd(C(19)H(21)N(2)P)(2)](PF(6))(2)·2.85CH(3)CN, the two six-membered NHC-phosphane chelate rings form a distorted square-planar coordination geometry around the Pd(II) atom, which lies 0.212?(1)?Å above the coordination plane. The sum of the bond angles at Pd(II) is 358.3°, with C-Pd-P bite angles of 84.03?(10) and 83.54?(9)°. The structure includes three acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules, one with partial site occupation and one with severe disorder, which was eventually excluded from the refinement.

Project description:In the title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(27)H(26)P(2))] or PdCl(2)[(C(6)H(5))(2)PCH(2)P(C(6)H(4)CH(3))(2)], the palladium center has a distorted square-planar geometry. There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The dihedral angle between the PdP(2) and PdCl(2) planes is 2.95?(4)° in one independent mol-ecule and 5.15?(4)° in the other. The P-Pd-P and P-C-P bond angles are significantly distorted because of the small bite angle of the chelating (bis-phosphino)methane ligand. The steric demands of the substituted rings in the mixed ligand cause a slight elongation of the Pd-P(C(6)H(4)CH(3))(2) bond relative to the Pd-P(C(6)H(5))(2) bond. In one molecule the tolyl ring shows positional disorder in a 0.58?(2):0.42?(2) ratio, in the other molecule the phenyl ring shows positional disorder in a 0.838?(9):0.162?(9) ratio.

Project description:The Pt(II) atom in the title compound, [PtCl(2)(C(27)H(27)NP(2))], has a highly distorted square-planar geometry, as evidenced by the P-Pt-P bite angle [72.4?(1)°]. The strain in the complex is further illustrated by the distorted tetra-hedral angles of the P atoms, which range between 93.5?(1) and 122.2?(1)°. It is of inter-est to note that the N atom has to adopt an almost planar geometry with the two P atoms and the C atom attached to it [it is displaced by 0.093?(2)?Å from the CP(2) plane] in order to accommodate the steric bulk of the phenyl groups and the alkyl group of the ligand coordinated to the Pt(II) centre. The mol-ecules pack in horizontal rows across the bc plane. C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric complex, [Cu(2)(CN)(2)(C(26)H(24)P(2))(3)]·2CH(3)OH, consists of two five-membered [Cu(dppe)CN] rings [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane] bridged by one ?(2)-dppe ligand, and two methanol solvent mol-ecules. The angles around the central metal atom indicate that each Cu(I) atom is located in the center of a distorted tetra-hedron. The coordination sphere of each Cu(I) atom is formed by three P atoms from two dppe ligands, and one C atom from the cyanide ligand. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H?N hydrogen bonds, which are formed by the O-H donor group from methanol and the N-atom acceptor from a cyanide ligand.
