Project description:In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), 1,3-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)propane (bpp) ligands bridge four-coordinate Co atoms, generating an extended one-dimensional zigzag chain. Both the Co and two Cl atoms in the tetrahedral coordination polyhedron lie on a mirror plane, while the bbp ligand is bis-ected through the central C atom in the chain by a second mirror plane. There are some π-π stacking inter-ations in the crystal structure, with inter-planar distances of 3.449 Å, which are responsible for the supra-molecular assembly.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(6)O(3))(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))](n), consists of [Zn(Hopa)(2)] (H(2)opa = 2-hydr-oxy-2-phenyl-acetic acid or mandelic acid) units bridged by 1,2-di-4-pyridylethane (bpe) ligands, forming a polymeric chain developing parallel to the b axis. The bridging bpe ligand is arranged around a twofold axis passing through the middle of the ethane C-C bond. The geometry around the Zn(II) ion is distorted octa-hedral, constructed by four O atoms from two Hopa(-) ligands and two N atoms from two bridging bpe ligands. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the chains, forming a three-dimensional network.

Cd atoms are bridged by Cl atoms, forming extended chains parallel to [010]. Neighboring chains are connected by N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [PbCl(2)(C(17)H(9)NO(3))](n), was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of PbCl(2) and liriodenine. The lead(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral environment made up of the O and N atoms of the liriodenine ligand [Pb-O 2.666 (4) Å, Pb-N 2.587 (5) Å, O-Pb-N 61.78 (14)°] and four bridging chloro ligands, which link the complex mol-ecules into infinite chains along the a axis. Both crystallographically independent chloro-bridges are asymmetric, so that the Pb atom participates in two short [2.6872 (18) and 2.7952 (18) Å] and two noticeably longer Pb-Cl bonds [2.9626 (18) and 3.031 (2) Å].

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, {(C(2)H(8)N)[CuCl(2)(N(3))]}(n), exhibits inorganic chains consisting of Cu(II) cations as well azide and chloride anions. The chains, made up from Cu-Cl-Cu-N-Cu linkages, are aligned parallel to the c axis. This architecture is further stabilized by a number of N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the protonated charge-compensating dimethyl-amine cations and chloride atoms.

Individual [Zn(N(3))(2)(dpa)](n) chains are connected into supra-molecular layers via N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding between the central amine groups of the dpa ligands and terminal unligated azide N atoms. The azide ligands in one supra-molecular layer penetrate through the neighboring layers above and below, allowing stacking into a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {(C(12)H(14)N(2))[Fe(NCS)(4)]}(n), the iron(II) cation is coordinated by four N-bonded and two S-bonded thio-cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral coordination mode. The asymmetric unit consists of half an iron(II) cation and half a protonated (E)-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication, each located on a centre of inversion. In addition, there are two thio-cyanate anions in general positions. The crystal structure consists of Fe-(NCS)(2)-Fe chains in which each iron(II) cation is additionally coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions.
