ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(12)H(15)N(3)O(3)S, there is an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H?O, N-H?S and C-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane.

Project description:In the title compound, C(14)H(10)N(4)O(5)S·0.5C(3)H(6)O, the nitro-benzoyl and nitro-phenyl groups have trans and cis configurations, respectively, with respect to the thio-urea S atom. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen bonds. The acetone solvent mol-ecule possesses a crystallographically imposed twofold axis. In the crystal packing, thio-urea mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bond inter-actions to form chains running parallel to the c axis. The chains are further bridged via N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the acetone mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(11)N(3)O(2)S, was prepared by reaction of 2-nitro-benzenamine, KOH and 1-isothio-cyanato-benzene in an ethanol solution at room temperature. The dihedral angles formed between the thiourea plane and the phenyl rings are 61.9 and 31.0°. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 78.1°. In the crystal structure, there are weak inter-molecular N-H?S and C-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(10)BrN(3)O(3)S, crystallizes as two concomitant polymorphs that differ in colour (one yellow and one colourless). Only the structure of the colourless form could be determined. The mol-ecule exists in the thio-amide form with an intra-molecular N-H?O=C hydrogen bond across the thio-urea system. Mol-ecules are linked into layers parallel to (120) by Br?O(nitro) contacts [3.103?(1)?Å], classical hydrogen bonds from the other NH function to the S atom and N(nitro)?O=C contacts. The layers are linked by weak C-H?O(nitro) hydrogen bonds to produce the observed three-dimensional network.

In the crystal, acetic acid mol-ecules are involved in hydrogen bonding to two separate propano-ylurea mol-ecules, acting as a donor in an O-H?O inter-action and as an acceptor in two N-H?O inter-actions. The propano-ylurea mol-ecules inter-act with each other via N-H?O hydrogen bonds. C-H?O inter-actions also stabilize the crystal structure.

The central thio-urea core forms dihedral angles of 3.02?(12) and 14.00?(10)° with the essentially planar furoyl groups [maximum deviations = 0.030?(2) and 0.057?(2)?Å] in the two mol-ecules and dihedral angles of 2.43?(13) and 8.03?(12)° with the benzene rings. The dihedral angles between the furoyl and benzene rings in the two mol-ecules are 3.97?(10) and 5.98?(9)°. The trans-cis geometry of the thio-urea group is stabilized by three intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds involving carbonyl and meth-oxy O atoms with the H atom of the cis-thio-amide group and between furan O atom and the other thio-amide H atom. There is also a weak intra-molecular C-H?S inter-action in each mol-ecule.
