2,2'-Biimidazolium hexa-aqua-manganese(II) bis-(sulfate).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, (C(6)H(8)N(4))[Mn(H(2)O)(6)](SO(4))(2), was obtained by cocrystallization of 2,2'-biimidazolium sulfate and bis-(tetra-butyl-ammonium) tetra-chlorido-manganate(II). The asymmetric unit contains one isolated (SO(4))(2-) anion, one half of an octa-hedral [Mn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) dication and one half of a 2,2'-biimidazolium dication, each of which lies on an inversion centre. Mol-ecules are connected by a three-dimensional N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond network.

Project description:In the title compound, (C5H7N2)2[Ni(H2O)6](SO4)2, the Ni(II) cation is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated by six aqua ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The [Ni(H2O)6](2+) ions are connected through an extensive network of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to sulfate anions, leading to the formation of layers parallel to (001). The 4-amino-pyridinium cations are located between these layers and are connected to the anionic framework by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Weak π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.754 (9) Å, provide additional stability to the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(2)(HO(3)PCH(2)CH(2)COO)(2)(C(8)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was obtained by hydro-thermal synthesis. The manganese(II) ions are six-coordinate and are linked by two 2-carboxy-ethyl-phospho-nate ligands, forming a centrosymmetric dimer. The Mn ions adopts a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The dimers are further linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 4.2754 (4) Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(CH(3)CN)(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)][Mn(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4)·2H(2)O, contains two distinct cationic Mn(II) complexes, four perchlorate anions and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the two complexes, both Mn(II) ions are six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment, but one Mn ion has a cis-N(5)O coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpym) ligands, one N atom of a coordinating acetonitrile mol-ecule and one O atom of a water ligand, whereas the other Mn ion has a cis-N(4)O(2) coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two bpym ligands and two O atoms of water ligands. In the crystal structure, the complex mol-ecules, anions and solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Three of the four perchlorate anions are disordered over two sets of sites in different ratios.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4)·6H(2)O, the complex cations assemble into positively charged sheets parallel to (010) via inter-molecular π-π stacking inter-actions with a mean interplanar distance of 3.410 (6) along [100] and 3.465 (5) Å along [001]. The sulfate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are inter-connected between these layers by hydrogen bonds, forming negatively charged layers which are linked to the positive layers through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional architecture. Both the positive and negative sheets are stacked along [010] in an ⋯ABAB⋯ sequence, the A layers being shifted by 1/2a along [100] with respect to the B layers. One of the uncoordinated water molecules is equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:In the title salt, (C2H8N)2[Ni(H2O)6)](SO4)2·2H2O, the Ni(II) cation is located on a centre of inversion and exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral arrangement of water mol-ecules. The Ni-O bond lengths in the complex [Ni(H2O)6](2+) cation show a distribution as in the related Tutton salt (NH4)2[Ni(H2O)6](SO4)2, but are longer in average [2.056 (13) versus 2.037 (12) Å]. The noncoordinating water mol-ecules and di-methyl-ammonium cations connect the sulfate and [Ni(H2O)6](2+) octa-hedra via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds from weak up to medium strength into a three-dimensional framework whereby the complex metal cations and sulfate anions are arranged in sheets parallel (001).

Project description:The title salt, (C2H8N)2[Co(H2O)6)](SO4)2·2H2O, is isotypic with (C2H8N)2[Ni(H2O)6)](SO4)2·2H2O. The Co-O bond lengths in the [Co(H2O)6](2+) complex cation show very similar distances as in the related Tutton salt (NH4)2[Co(H2O)6)](SO4)2 [average 2.093 (17) Å], but are significantly longer than in the isotypic Ni(II) compound (Δd ≃ 0.04 Å). The cobalt cation reaches an overall bond-valence sum of 1.97 valence units. The S-O distances are nearly equal, ranging from 1.454 (4) to 1.470 (3) Å [mean 1.465 (12) Å]; however, the O-S-O angles vary clearly from 108.1 (2) to 110.2 (2)° [average bond angle 109.5 (9)°]. The non-coordinating water mol-ecules and di-methyl-ammonium cations connect the sulfate tetrahedra and the [Co(H2O)6](2+) octa-hedron via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds of weak up to medium strength into a three-dimensional framework whereby the complex metal cations and sulfate anions are arranged in sheets parallel to (001).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, [Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)][Mn(2)(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, consists of mononuclear manganese(II) cations, dinuclear manganate(II) dianions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The dianion is located about an inversion center; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, a sulfonatoisophthalate group, a water mol-ecule along with two bridging water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral geometry. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and a chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A partially overlapped arrangement between the bipyridine ligands and the aromatic ring of the sulfoisophthalate group of adjacent anions is observed; the distance (3.357 Å) indicates π-π stacking. Hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecules serving as hydrogen-bond donors, lead to a three-dimensional network architecture.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title complex, [Ni(2)(C(14)H(8)O(4)S(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Ni(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, three carboxyl-ate O atoms (one bidentate and one monodentate) from two different disulfanediyldibenzoate ligands and one O atom from a coordinated water mol-ecule in an octa-hedral coordination geometry. The disulfanediyldibenzo-ate dianion bridges two Ni(II )atoms. Adjacent mol-ecules are linked through the coordinated water mol-ecules, forming a O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded chain running along the a axis.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(6)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4), the asymmetric unit contains half each of two 2,2'-diimidazole ligands, one Cu(+) cation, one water mol-ecule and half of a sulfate anion (2 symmetry). The dinuclear complex is completed through a twofold rotation axis, leading to a twisted ten-membered ring mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the two symmetry-related 2,2'-diimidazole ligands is 23.6?(1)°. The copper centre is coordinated by two N atoms of two symmetry-related 2,2'-diimidazole ligands in an almost linear fashion. The water mol-ecule exhibits a weak coordination to Cu(+) with a more remote distance of 2.591?(2)?Å. The distance between the two copper centres is 2.5956?(6)?Å. O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the complex cation, the water mol-ecule and the sulfate anion lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Dipotassium hexa-aqua-nickel(II) bis-[hexa-fluoridozirconate(IV)].

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, K(2)[Ni(H(2)O)(6)][ZrF(6)](2), were grown by slow evaporation of a 40% aqueous HF solution in which a stoichiometric mixture of NiCl(2)·6H(2)O, ZrF(4) and KCl was dissolved. The monoclinic structure is isotypic with its K(2)Cu, K(2)Zn, Cs(2)Zn and Cs(2)Cu analogues. The structure is built up from isolated, slightly elongated octa-hedral [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) complex cations (symmetry ) and dimeric [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) complex anions (symmetry ) that are also isolated from each other. The [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) anion results from the association of two distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal [ZrF(7)] coordination polyhedra by sharing an equatorial edge passing through an inversion center of the unit cell. Both isolated [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) and [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) complex ions are situated in planes parallel to (010). They are connected by the eight-coordinated K(+) ions into a three-dimensional structure. An intricate O-H⋯F hydrogen-bonding network consolidates the structure.
