Poly[[?-aqua-aqua-[?(4)-ethyl (dichloro-methyl-ene)diphospho-nato]sesqui-calcium(II)] acetone hemisolvate 4.5-hydrate].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, {[Ca(1.5)(C(3)H(5)Cl(2)O(6)P(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·0.5CH(3)COCH(3)·4.5H(2)O}(n), has a two-dimensional polymeric structure. The asymmetric unit contains two crystallographically independent Ca(2+) cations connected by a chelating and bridging ethyl (dichloro-methyl-ene)diphos-pho-n-ate(3(-)) ligand and an aqua ligand. One of the Ca atoms, lying on a centre of symmetry, has a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry, while the other Ca atom is seven-coordinated in a distorted monocapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The polymeric layers are further connected by extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The acetone solvent mol-ecule and one uncoordin-ated water mol-ecule are located on twofold rotation axes.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, Cs(2)[Co(CH(4)O(6)P(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is comprised of one bidentate methyl-enediphospho-nate ligand and one water mol-ecule which are coordinated to the Co(II) atom, as well as a caesium counter-cation. The Co atom occupies a special position on a crystallographic inversion center. The caesium ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by six O atoms with Cs-O distances ranging from 3.119?(2) to 3.296?(2)?Å. A three-dimensional network is formed through O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Tl(2)(C(3)H(10)NO(9)P(3))](n), a Tl(I) organic-inorganic hybrid complex, was synthesized by the reaction of nitrilo-tris(methyl-enephospho-nic acid) with thallium(I) nitrate. There are two types of Tl(+) ions in the complex, with coordination numbers of eight and seven and with stereochemically active and inactive lone-pair electrons, respectively. In the crystal, the doubly deprotonated ligands form two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded layers through O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The NH group is involved in a trifurcated intra-molecular hydrogen bond. Coordination of the phospho-nate ligands to the Tl(+) ions creates a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:THE ASYMMETRIC UNIT OF THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: aqua-bis(2,4,6-trinitro-phenolato)(3,6,9-trioxaundecane-1,11-diol)gadolinium(III) 2,4,6-trinitro-phenolate methanol hemi-solvate], [Gd(C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)(C(8)H(18)O(5))(H(2)O)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))·0.5CH(4)O, contains two crystallographically independent Gd(III) complex cations with two uncoordinated picrate anions and one methanol mol-ecule. Each Gd(III) atom has nine coordination sites occupied by five O atoms of tetra-ethyl-ene glycol as a penta-dentate ligand, one O atom of a water mol-ecule and three O atoms of the two picrate anions as bidentate and monodentate ligands. The geometry is distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic. The mean planes of the two coordinated mono- and bidentate picrate ligands to the Gd(III) center are almost perpendicular to each other, as indicated by the dihedral angles of 89.92?(8) and 86.60?(8)° in the two complex cations. The ions are arranged in a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane. Short O?O and N?O contacts between the nitro groups, intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, and two ?-? inter-actions between benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.8073?(10)-3.9831?(10)?Å] are observed. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two positions, with site-occupancy factors of ca 0.6 and 0.4.

The dihedral angles formed by the mesitylene ring with the two pyridyl rings are 82.07?(3) and 78.39?(3)° in mol-ecule A, 86.20?(3) and 82.29?(3)° in mol-ecule B, 81.05?(3) and 76.0?(4)° in mol-ecule C, 86.0?(3) and 80.9?(3)° in moleule D. The two pyridyl rings form dihedral angles of 41.17?(4), 64.01?(3), 81.9?(3) and 82.25?(3)° in mol-ecules A, B, C and D, respectively. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds and possible weak C-H?? inter-actions. Some short intra-molecular S?O contacts are apparent [2.684?(4)-2.702?(4)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(2)H(3)O(3)P)(H(2)O)](n), was obtained from vinyl-phospho-nic acid and cadmium nitrate. The vinyl groups project into the inter-lamellar space and the structure is held together via van der Waals forces. The Cd(2+) ion is six-coordinate and the geometry is best described as distorted octa-hedral, with O-Cd-O angles falling within the range 61.72?(13)-101.82?(14)°. Five of the coordinated oxygen atoms originate from the phospho-nate group and the sixth from a bound water molecule. Cd-O distances lie between 2.220?(3) and 2.394?(2)?Å. The water mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to a phospho-nate oxygen atom.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·4.5H(2)O or [Cu(hypydc)(phen)(H(2)O)]·4.5H(2)O (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline and hypydcH(2) is 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was obtained by the reaction of copper(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with the proton-transfer compound (phenH)(2)(hypydc) in aqueous solution. Both the cationic and the anionic fragments of the proton-transfer compound are involved in complexation. Each Cu(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral geometry. It is hexa-coordinated by three O atoms and three N atoms, from one phen fragment (as bidentate ligand), one (hypydc)(2-) unit (as tridentate ligand) and a water mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-to-centroid distance 3.5642?(11)?Å] between the phen ring systems, contribute to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.
