Project description:Two new molecular structures, namely 1,3-bis(trimethylsilyl)-1H-benzimidazole-2(3H)-thione, C13H22N2SSi2, (2), and 1-trimethylsilyl-1H-benzimidazole-2(3H)-thione, C10H14N2SSi, (3), are reported. Both systems were derived from 1H-benzimidazole-2(3H)-thione. Noncovalent C-H···π interactions between the centroid of the benzmidazole system and the SiMe3 groups form helicoidal arrangements in (2). Dimerization of (3) results in the formation of R2(2)(8) rings via N-H···S interactions, along with parallel π-π interactions between imidazole and benzene rings.

Project description:There are two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(14)H(11)N(3)OS. In each, the benzimidazole ring system is essentially planar, with maximum deviations of 0.010 (2) and 0.006 (2) Å, and makes dihedral angles of 8.70 (9) and 13.75 (8)°, respectively, with the hy-droxy-substituted benzene rings. Each mol-ecule adopts an E configuration about the central C=N double bond. In the crystal, the two independent mol-ecules are connected via inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming dimers. Furthermore, the dimers are connected by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into mol-ecular ribbons along the c axis. There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond in each mol-ecule, which generates an S(6) ring motif.

Project description:In the title compound, [CuI(C(8)H(8)N(2)S)(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]·CH(3)OH, the coordination environment around the Cu(I) atom is distorted tetra-hedral, defined by two P atoms of two triphenyl-phosphane ligands, one S atom of a 5-methyl-1H-benzimidazole-2(3H)-thione ligand and one I atom. The complex mol-ecules and the methanol solvent mol-ecules are connected via N-H⋯O and O-H⋯I hydrogen bonds, forming a chain along [010]. An intra-molecular N-H⋯I hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(9)H(8)N(2)S, there are four symmetry-independent mol-ecules (Z' = 4). The geometrical features of these mol-ecules are quite similar: in the normal probability plots the R(2) correlation factors for bond lengths and angles are generally around 0.95. The twist angles between the imidazole and phenyl rings (which are planar within 3σ) range from 9.0 (6) to 13.1 (5)°. In the crystal, pairs of independent molecules are joined by linear N-H⋯S and weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming infinite ribbons, of the type ∼ABABAB∼ and ∼CDCDCD∼, propagating along [110]. Second-order hydrogen-bonded R(2) (2)(8) rings are formed via inter-weaving infinite C(2) (2)(8) chains.

Project description:In the title complex, [CuCl(C8H8N2OS)(C18H15P)2]·2CH3OH, the Cu(I) ion is coordinated by one chloride anion, one S atom from the 5-meth-oxy-1H-benzimidazole-2(3H)-thione ligand and two P atoms from two tri-phenyl-phosphine ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. One of the N-bound H atoms is involved in an intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond, while another one inter-acts with the solvent methanol mol-ecule via an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. Inter-molecular O-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link two further complex mol-ecules and four solvent mol-ecules into a centrosymmetric structural unit. The short distance of 3.624 (4) Å between the centroids of the five- and the six-membered rings of two benzimidazole fragments indicates the presence of π-π inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C13H16N2S2, the seven-membered ring adopts a boat conformation, with the two phenyl-ene C atoms representing the stern and the methyl-ene C atom as the prow. The thione S atoms and N-bound ethyl groups lie on the opposite side of the mol-ecule to the phenyl-ene ring so that the mol-ecule approximates mirror symmetry. In the crystal, supra-molecular layers in the bc plane are sustained by a pair of C-H⋯S inter-actions to the same S atom acceptor.

Inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains propagating in the [010] direction.
