ABSTRACT: The title trinuclear complex, [Ni(3)(C(9)H(7)N(2)O(4))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(8)], possesses a crystallographically imposed center of symmetry occupied by one Ni(II) ion. Each of the three Ni(II) ions is coordinated by two O and four N atoms, respectively, in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions link the mol-ecules into ribbons propagating in the [100] direction.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(4))(2)(C(6)H(5)N)(2)], each Cu(II) atom is chelated by the tridentate doubly deprotonated Schiff base and a pyridine mol-ecule in a nearly planar environment (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.107?Å). The metal ions are bridged by one O atom from the symmetry-related Schiff base ligands, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear copper(II) complex. The dimeric complex is linked to another dimer via weaker Cu-O inter-actions and also O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(3)(PO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(8)](n), which was synthesized hydro-thermally, all the Ni atoms are located in slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environments. Two phosphate groups and two Ni atoms share a centrosymmetric four-membered ring and an eight-membered ring such that the four-membered ring is inside the eight-membered ring. The eight-membered rings are connected with the other Ni atoms (lying on centres of symmetry) through phosphate anions, generating a one-dimensional chain structure. Adjacent chains are connected through hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title centrosymmetric dimer, [Cu(2)(C(17)H(14)N(2)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], the Cu(II) atom has an almost perfect square-pyramidal geometry. The Cu(II) ion is coordin-ated by the NO(2) donor atoms of the hydrazide Schiff base ligand, the N atom of the pyridine group and an O atom of the symmetry-related unit. The dihedral angles between the pyridine ring and the two phenyl rings of the ligand are 21.4?(3) and 24.0?(2)°. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title trinuclear Ni(II) compound, [Ni(3)(C(11)H(11)N(2)O(3))(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], contains two independent mol-ecules which are located on individual inversion centres. The central Ni atom, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms and is further N,O-chelated by two N-(2-methyl-propano-yl)salicyloylhydrazidate anions in an elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry. The terminal Ni atom is coordinated by a pyridine ligand and is further N,N',O-chelated by an N-(2-methyl-propano-yl)salicyloyl-hydrazidate anion in a distorted square-planar coordination geometry. Weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is observed in the structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(H(2)O)(6)][Ni(3)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)(4)]·8H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of nickel(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (pydcH(2)) and 1,10-phenanothroline (phen) in an aqueous solution. The latter ligand is not involved in formation of the title complex. There are three different Ni(II) atoms in the asymmetric unit, two of which are located on inversion centers, and thus the [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cation and the trinuclear {[Ni(pydc)(2)](2)-?-Ni(H(2)O)(4)}(2-) anion are centrosymmetric. All Ni(II) atoms exhibit an octa-hedral coordination geometry. Various inter-actions, including numerous O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-O?? stacking of the pyridine and carboxyl-ate groups [3.570?(1), 3.758?(1) and 3.609?(1)?Å], are observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:The reaction of Ni(OAc)(2)·4H(2)O with 1-(2-carb-oxy-benzo-yl)thio-semicarbazide (H(3)L) produces the title complex, [Ni(3)(C(9)H(6)N(3)O(3)S)(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(6)]·C(5)H(5)N·2H(2)O, which contains an linear array of three Ni(II) atoms. The asymmetric unit contains half of the complex mol-ecule, a water mol-ecule and a half-mol-ecule of pyridine. The central Ni(II) atom, located on a crystallographic inversion centre, has an octa-hedral N(4)O(2) environment. The other two Ni(II) atoms have a square-pyramidal N(3)OS environment, each bridged to the central Ni(II) atom via the L(3-) group. The carboxyl-ate groups coordinate to the metal atoms in a monodentate fashion. The water mol-ecule is linked to the complex mol-ecule via O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The mol-ecules further assemble into a one-dimensional network parallel to [001] via inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(NCSe)(2)(C(7)H(7)NO)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Co(2+) cation is coordinated by two seleno-cyanate anions, two 3-acetyl-pyridine ligands and two water mol-ecules within a slightly distorted CoN(4)O(2) octa-hedron. The asymmetric unit consists of one Co(2+) cation, which is located on a center of inversion, as well as one seleno-cyanate anion, one 3-acetyl-pyridine ligand and one water mol-ecule in general positions. Whereas one of the water H atoms makes a classical O-H?O hydrogen bond, the other shows a O-H?Se inter-action.
