ABSTRACT: In the title chromium silanethiol-ate, [Cr(C(12)H(27)O(3)SSi)(2)(C(7)H(9)N)(2)]·C(7)H(8), the Cr(II) atom is coordinated by two S and two N atoms in a distorted square-planar geometrical arrangement. The mononuclear mol-ecule lies on a twofold axis that passes through the pyridine N atoms. The toluene solvent mol-ecule is equally disordered about a twofold axis.

Project description:The Cd(II) atom in the title compound, [Cd(C(12)H(27)O(3)SSi)(2)(C(4)H(6)N(2)O)], is penta-coordinated by two O and two S atoms from the O,S-chelating silanethiol-ate residue and one N from the 4-hydroxy-methyl-imidazole ligand and shows a strongly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The title complex is isostructural with its zinc analog. The hydroxy group of the ligand is involved in intra-molecular O-H?S hydrogen bonding and also acts as an acceptor in the formation of an inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond, which links mol-ecules of the complex into zigzag chains parallel to the b axis. One of the tert-butyl groups is disordered over two orientations with occupancies of 0.557?(12):0.443?(12).

One ligand binds in the ?(3) mode, throuh three N atoms of the pyrazolyl rings, the other ligand coordinates through two N atoms of the pyrazolyl rings and the H atom attached to the central B via an agostic-type inter-action through the B-H group of the second Tp(tBu,Me) ligand, giving an overall distorted octa-hedral geometry. Project description:In the title compound, {[Ca(3)Eu(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(6)(H(2)O)(12)]·10.5H(2)O}(n), the Eu(III) ion is nine-coordinated by three tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate (PDA) ligands, forming a [Eu(PDA)(3)](3-) building block. The Ca(2+) ions adopt two types of coordination geometries. One Ca(2+) ion, lying on a twofold rotation axis, is eight-coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from four PDA ligands and four water mol-ecules, and the other two Ca(2+) ions, each lying on an inversion center, are six-coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two PDA ligands and four water mol-ecules. The carboxyl-ate groups bridge the Eu(III) and Ca(2+) ions into a three-dimensional porous framework, with channels extending along [010] and [001] in which lattice water mol-ecules are located. Two of the lattice water mol-ecules are disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancy and one water mol-ecule is 0.25-occupied. Numerous O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms are present.

Project description:The title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))[Cr(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·4H(2)O or (4,4'-bipyH)[Cr(pydc)(2)]·4H(2)O (where 4,4'-bipy is 4,4'-bipyridine and pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was synthesized by the reaction of chromium(III) chloride hexa-hydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and 4,4'-bipyridine in a 1:2:4 molar ratio in aqueous solution. This compound is composed of an anionic complex, [Cr(pydc)(2)](-), protonated 4,4'-bipyridine as a counter-ion, (4,4'-bipyH)(+), and four uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The anion is a six-coordinate complex with a distorted octa-hedral geometry around the Cr(III) atom, formed by two tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate, pydc(2-), groups. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and C-O⋯π stacking inter-actions (with distances of 3.3390 (13) and 3.4575 (13) Å) connect the various components into a supra-molecular structure.

Investigation of Bis(Perfluoro-tert-Butoxy) Halogenates(I/III).

Project description:A systematic study of halogenate(I/III) anions with polyatomic ligands is presented. The bis(perfluoro-tert-butoxy) halogenates(I) [X(OC4 F9 )2 ]- , X=Cl, Br, I, of chlorine, bromine, and iodine are prepared as their tetraethylammonium salts and characterized with IR, Raman, and NMR spectroscopic methods, as well as single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Spectroscopical data are supported by quantum-chemical calculations. Additionally, the bonding situation of the species in question are analyzed and discussed. Furthermore, the oxidation to the corresponding halogenate(III) derivatives was studied. For [Br(OC4 F9 )2 ]- , oxidation with elemental fluorine gave [BrF2 (OC4 F9 )2 ]- . Iodide was directly oxidized by ClOC4 F9 to the IIII species [I(OC4 F9 )4 ]- , which is a surprisingly inert anion that might be used as a weakly coordinating anion (WCA) in the future. For [Cl(OC4 F9 )2 ]- , the decomposition products of the synthetic approaches towards a chlorine(III) system were analyzed.

Project description:The three-dimensional title coordination polymer, {[Tb(2)(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(2)(H(2)O)(5)]·H(2)O}(n), was hydro-thermally synthesized by reacting the corresponding rare-earth salt with pyridine-2,4,6-tricarb-oxy-lic acid (H(3)ptc). There are two independent Tb(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is nine-coordinated, forming a monocapped NO(8) square-anti-prism and the other is eight-coordinated exhibiting a 4,4-bicapped NO(7) trigonal-prismatic environment. The complex units are inter-connected through the ptc(3-) anions acting in different coordination modes, resulting in a three-dimensional coordin-ation polymer. The crystal structure features extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

One Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by one N and five O atoms from the three ptc ligands and three aqua ligands in a distorted monocapped square antiprismatic geometry, and the other is eight-coordinated by one N and five O atoms from three ptc ligands and two aqua ligands in a 4,4'-bicapped trigonal anti-prismatic geometry. The ptc ligands brigde the Sm(III) ions into a three-dimensional polymeric framework. Extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure.

One of the tert-butyl groups is disordered over two orientations with occupancy ratio of 0.534?(6):0.466?(6).
