Catena-Poly[[bis-(3-carb-oxy-5-nitro-benzoato-κO)copper(II)]-μ-1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane-κN:N'].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)NO(6))(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), the square-planar coordinated Cu(II) ion lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two protonated 5-nitro-isophthalate ligands. The Cu(II) ions are linked into a one-dimensional coordination polymer by tethering 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane ligands, whose central methyl-ene C atoms are situated on twofold rotation axes. The chains are oriented parallel to the c axis, and stack into a supra-molecular three-dimensional structure through O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Gd(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(8)H(4)NO(6))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), contains polymeric chains made up of Gd(III) atoms, 1,10-phenanthroline and fully or half-deproton-ated 5-nitro-benzene-1,3-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (H(2)L) ligands. The Gd(III) atom is coordinated in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic fashion by six O atoms from two HL(-) and three L(2-) ligands, and by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand. The L(2-) ligands bridge the Gd-phenanthroline units, forming chains running parallel to [100]. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding as well as π-π stacking inter-actions with an inter-planar distance of 3.599 (2) Å assemble neighboring polymeric chains.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pd(C(7)H(7)O(3)S)(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))(2)](n), the metal ion, located on a twofold rotation axis, exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment, with bond angles that deviate by at most 2.2° from an ideal geometry, completed by two O atoms from two deprotonated p-toluene-sulfonic acid ligands and four N atoms from four 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane ligands. One of the sulfonate O atoms is disordered over two positions [ratio 0.70 (5):0.30 (5)].

Project description:In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), 1,3-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)propane (bpp) ligands bridge four-coordinate Co atoms, generating an extended one-dimensional zigzag chain. Both the Co and two Cl atoms in the tetrahedral coordination polyhedron lie on a mirror plane, while the bbp ligand is bis-ected through the central C atom in the chain by a second mirror plane. Project description:The polymeric title compound, {[Bi(C(9)H(4)O(6))(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(C(2)H(6)OS)]·C(2)H(6)OS}(n), was obtained by the reaction of bis-muth(III) nitrate, bipyridine (bpy) and 1,3,5-benzene-tricarb-oxy-lic acid (H(3)BTC). The Bi(III) ion is coordinated in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, defined by two N atoms of the bipy ligand, four O atoms of two HBTC(2-) anions, two O atoms of a nitrate anion and one O atom of a dimethyl sulfoxide ligand. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The S atom of the non-coordinating dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with refined site-occupancies of 0.430 (19) and 0.570 (19).

One of these O atoms is also connected to the metal cation from an inversion-related metal atom. The five O atoms bonded to the metal centre form a penta-gon, above and below which are located the N atoms of the 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules. The polycationic ribbon propagates along the b axis of the unit cell. The (aromatic) carboxyl end of the monoanion connects adjacent ribbons into a layer motif in the (102) plane. The nitrate ions are hydrogen bonded to the layer. The geometry of the Cd(II) atom is a trans-N(2)O(5)Cd penta-gonal bipyramid.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)](n), the Pb(II) ion is coordinated by two 4-methyl-benzoate (PMB) and one nicotinamide (NA) ligands while symmetry-related NA ligands bridge adjacent Pb(II) ions, forming polymeric chains along the c axis. The carboxyl-ate groups in the two PMB ions are twisted away from the attached benzene ring by 22.9 (2) and 4.6 (2)°. The two benzene rings of the PMB ions are oriented at a dihedral angle of 83.7 (1)°. In a polymeric chain, the NA ligands are linked to PMB ions through intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, adjacent polymeric chains inter-act via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane.

In each one, the Mn(II) ions are bridged by two 4-methyl-benzoate (PMB) ligands and one water mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, each Mn(II) ion is coordinated by three PMB ligands, one water mol-ecule and two symmetry-related N,N-diethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) ligands. Symmetry-related Mn(II) ions are bridged by the N and O atoms of symmetry-related DENA ligands, forming polymeric chains parallel to [100]. The coord-ination environmnts for the Mn(II) ions are slightly distorted octa-hedral. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link bridging water mol-ecules to the carboxyl-ate O atoms of a neigh-boring polymeric chain. In the crystal structure, π-π contacts between benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.562 (1) Å] and weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed.
