[?-4-Benzoyl-1-(1-oxido-2-naphthyl-carbon-yl)thio-semicarbazidato(4-)]bis-[pyridine-copper(II)].

ABSTRACT: In the title dinuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(19)H(11)N(3)O(3)S)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], the two Cu(II) centers have different coordination environments, viz. N(2)OS and N(2)O(2), each exhibiting a distorted square-planar geometry. ?-? inter-actions between the aromatic rings of neighbouring complexes [centroid-centroid distance = 3.856?(5)?Å] link pairs of mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers, which are further packed into stacks along the b axis with relatively short Cu?Cu separations of 3.482?(1)?Å. Weak inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, C26H42N4O2S2, adopts a shallow U-shape as both pendant arms of the 1,3-substituted benzene ring are orientated in the same direction. The thione S atoms lie to the same side of the benzene ring and the carbonyl O atoms to the other. The most prominent feature of the crystal packing is the formation of inversion dimers mediated by N-H?S hydrogen bonds. One of the 2-methyl-propyl groups is statistically disordered over two positions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Cu(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, adopts a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedral CuN(6) coordination geometry. The two bidentate 2-amino-methyl-pyridine ligands are coordinated in a trans fashion, while the two thio-cyanate ligands are at the axial positions and coordinate to the Cu atom in a bent mode with a C-N-Cu angle of 127.49?(10)°. Inter-molecular N-H?N and N-H?S hydrogen bonds link the copper complex mol-ecules into an infinite two-dimensional network.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(14)H(11)N(3)OS)(C(5)H(5)N)], the Cu(II) atom exhibits a slightly distorted square-planar CuN(2)OS coordination polyhedron consisting of a phenyl O, an azomethine N and a thio-amide S atom from the tridentate thio-semicarbazonate dianion, and the N atom of a pyridine mol-ecule. The thio-semicarbazonate ligand exists in the thiol tautomeric form as an E isomer. Rotational disorder of the pyridine and phenyl rings in a 1:1 ratio of the respective components is observed. An extensive network of weak N-H?S, C-H?O, C-H?N and C-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions consolidates the structure.

Project description:Two independent thio-urea derivatives comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(14)H(20)N(2)OS. The major difference between the mol-ecules relates to a twist in the relative orientation of the benzene rings [torsion angles = 4.5?(2) and -19.9?(2)° for the two independent mol-ecules]. The thio-carbonyl and carbonyl groups lie to opposite sides of the mol-ecule as there are twists about the central N-S bond [torsion angles = 83.90?(15) and 81.77?(15)°]. Supra-molecular chains extending parallel to [101] with a stepped topology and mediated by N-H?O hydrogen bonding feature in the crystal structure. C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions are also present.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(22)H(18)N(4)O(2)S(2), lies across a crystallographic inversion centre. The mol-ecule adopts a syn-anti configuration with respect to the positions of the carbonyl groups and terminal phenyl rings relative to the thione S atom across the C-N bond. There are two intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen bonds within each molecule, resulting in the formation of four six-membered S(6) rings. The central and terminal rings make a dihedral angle of 13.55?(15)°. Project description:The title compound, C(22)H(18)N(4)O(2)S(2), was characterized by (1)H and (13)C NMR, solid-state IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallographic techniques. The crystal structure determination reveals that the twisting modes of the two side arms are different [C-N-C-O and C-N-C-N torsion angles = -1.2?(3) and 1.1?(3)°, respectively, in one arm and 24.1?(3) and -5.1?(3)°, respectively, in the other]. The crystal structure involves N-H?O and N-H?S hydrogen bonds.
