ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Al(2)(CH(3))(4)(C(15)H(11)O)(2)], is dimeric bridged through the O atoms of the 9-anthracenemethano-late anions. Each Al atom is tetra-coordinated by two bridging O atoms from two different 9-anthracenemethano-late ligands and by two C atoms from two methyl groups, forming a distorted tetra-hedral environment. The average Al-O bond distance in the Al(2)O(2) core is 1.845?Å.

The asymmetric unit contains one half of the mol-ecule and there is a crystallographic inversion centre in this mol-ecule. Each Al atom is penta-coordinated by one N atom and two bridging O atoms of two N,O-bidentate benzotriazolylphenolate ligands and by two C atoms from two methyl groups, forming a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environment.

Project description:The heterometallic title complex, [Cr(2)Mn(2)(C(5)H(11)NO(2))(2)(C(5)H(12)NO(2))(2)(NCS)(4)]·4C(3)H(7)NO, was prepared using manganese powder, Reineckes salt, ammonium thio-cyanate and a non-aqueous solution of N-methyl-diethano-lamine in air. The centrosymmetric mol-ecular structure of the complex is based on a tetra-nuclear {Mn(2)Cr(2)(?-O)(6)} core. The tetra-nuclear complex mol-ecule and the two uncoordinated dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, while the two other mol-ecules of dimethyl-formamide do not participate in hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[Fe(2)(C(4)H(2)N(2)S(2))(4)]·2CH(4)O, the [Fe(III)(pdt)(2)](-) anion (pdt is pyrazine-2,3-dithiol-ate) forms a centrosymmetric dimer supported by two Fe(III)-S bonds [Fe-S = 2.4787 (4) Å]. In the crystal structure, dimers form a one-dimensional stack along the b axis via π-π stacking inter-actions, the inter-planar separation between adjacent dimers being 3.51 (2) Å. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is involved in two hydrogen bonds in which the hydroxyl group acts as a hydrogen-bond donor to the N atom of a pdt ligand and the O atom acts as an acceptor for the NH group of the triethyl-ammonium cation.

Project description:The Mn(III) atom in the title complex, [Mn(C(11)H(10)N(3)O)(2)]NO(3), is coordinated by the two tridentate (2-pyrid-yl)(2-pyridyl-amino)-methano-late ligands, forming a six-coordinate environment. The four pyridyl N atoms constitute the equatorial plane on which the manganese(III) ion lies; the coordination plane suffers a slight distortion as indicated by the average plane deviation of 0.058?Å. The methano-late O atoms occupy the axial positions. The coordination geometry is thus octa-hedral. In the title compound, the cations are linked by nitrate anions via N-H?O hydrogen bonds to form one-dimensional chains. Moreover, the one-dimensional structure is stabilized by inter-molecular edge-to-face aromatic ?-? inter-actions with a center-of-inversion at a distance of ca 4.634?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Pd(2)(C(9)H(12)NSe)(2)Cl(2)]·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), contains two half-mol-ecules, each lying on a twofold axis; each mol-ecule is chiral and of the same enanti-omer. This is only possible as the mol-ecule has a hinged cis arrangement about the Pd(2+) coordination spheres. For this hinged dimeric structure, the angles between the two coordination planes in each mol-ecule are 15.02?(5) and 14.91?(5)°. This hinged cis arragement also allows the two mol-ecules to form pairs linked by secondary inter-actions between the Pd and Se atoms [3.4307?(9) and 3.4317?(9)?Å] of adjoining mol-ecules, leading to an overall tetra-meric structure. During the refinement stages, it was noticed that there were dichloromethane solvent mol-ecules present disordered about a twofold axis. After unsuccessful attempts were made to model this, they were removed using SQUEEZE.

Project description:The title compound, [Al(C5H8N2)Cl3], was prepared by a thermolytic decomposition under high-vacuum conditions and presents a formal adduct of an Arduengo carbene, 1,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl-idene, and aluminium trichloride. The Al atom adopts a pseudo-tetra-hedral CCl3 coordination environment. All N and C atoms, the Al atom, one of the Cl atoms, and all aromatic H atoms of the mol-ecule lie on a mirror plane. As a result of the mirror symmetry of the mol-ecule, the H atoms of all methyl groups are disordered between symmetry-equivalent positions.

The dimethyl-aluminium centre is bound by the N and the O atoms of the (2-dimethyl-amino-phen-yl)(2-fluoro-phen-yl)methano-late ligand. The second Al atom is bound by the methano-late O atom and by three methyl C atoms. The crystal studied was a racemic twin with a 0.4?(2):0.6?(2) domain ratio.

Project description:The dinuclear compound, [Nb(2)Cl(6)(C(2)H(6)S)(1.7)(C(2)H(6)Se)(1.3)], features an Nb(III)=Nb(III) double bond [2.6878?(5)?Å]. The mol-ecule lies on a twofold rotation axis that passes through the middle of this bond as well as through the bridging dimethyl sulfide ligand. The Nb(III) ion exists in an octa-hedral coordination environment defined by two terminal and two bridging Cl atoms, and (CH(3))(2)Se/(CH(3))(2)S ligands. The (bridging) ligand lying on the twofold rotation axis is an ordered (CH(3))(2)S ligand, whereas the terminal ones on a general position are a mixture of (CH(3))(2)Se and (CH(3))(2)S ligands in a 0.647?(2):0.353?(2) ratio (the methyl C atoms are also disordered).

Project description:The title compound, [Mo(2)(C(11)H(16)N)(4)(C(10)H(11)N)(2)], is a dinuclear molybdenum complex with a formal metal-metal bond [Mo?Mo separation = 2.5946?(8)?Å], four anilide-type ligands and two bridging mesityl nitrile groups. There are two inversion symmetric mol-ecules in the unit cell (an inversion center is localized at the mid-point of the Mo-Mo bond), each with approximate non-crystallographic C(2h) symmetry. The mol-ecules contain disordered isopropyl and 3,5-C(6)H(3)Me(2) groups on different anilido ligands; the major component having an occupancy of 0.683?(7). The complex was obtained in low yield as the product from the reaction between the bridging pyrazine adduct of molybdenum tris--anilide ([?(2)-(C(4)H(4)N(2)){Mo(C(11)H(16)N)(3)}(2)]) and mesityl nitrile with a loss of one anilido ligand.
