ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(4)H(4)N(3)O(2))(2)](n), the Zn(II) atom is coordinated by two O atoms [Zn-O = 1.969?(2) and 1.997?(2)?Å] and two N atoms [Zn-N = 2.046?(2) and 2.001?(2)?Å] in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Non-classical inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the complex into a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds, which link the chains, forming a two-dimensional layer parallel to (10); O-H?Cl inter-actions link the layers, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title complex, [ZnCl2(C10H9N5)2], the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two 2-[(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)meth-yl]-1H-benzimidazole (tmb) ligands and by two chloride ligands in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In the tmb ligands, the benzimidazole rings systems are essentially planar, with maximum deviations from the mean plane of 0.021?(3) and 0.030?(3)?Å, and form dihedral angles of 73.2?(2) and 83.5?(2)° with the triazole rings. In the crystal, N-H?N hydrogen bonds link complex mol-ecules into chains along [010]. In addition, weak C-H?Cl and C-H?N hydrogen bonds complete a three-dimensional network. Two weak intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds are also observed.

There is an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond in each L(-) ligand. Being an effective tridentate bridging ligand, the deprotonated L(-) anions link two Fe(II) atoms, yielding a chain-like polymer propagating along [100]. In the crystal, these polymer chains are linked via N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C4H5N4O2)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, represents the first transition metal complex of the novel chelating triazole ligand, 2-(5-amino-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)acetic acid (ATAA), to be structurally characterized. In the mol-ecule of the title complex, the nickel(II) cation is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two water mol-ecules in axial positions and two O and two N atoms from two trans-oriented chelating anions of the deprotonated ATAA ligand, forming a slightly distorted octa-hedron. The trans angles of the octa-hedron are all 180° due to the inversion symmetry of the mol-ecule. The cis-angles are in the range 87.25?(8)-92.75?(8)°. The six-membered chelate ring adopts a slightly twisted boat conformation with puckering parameters Q = 0.542?(2)?Å, ? = 88.5?(2) and ? = 15.4?(3)°. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the amino group and the chelating carboxyl-ate O atom of two trans-oriented ligands. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules and lattice water mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by an extensive network of N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.
