ABSTRACT: The Sn(IV) atom in the title salt, [N(CH(3))(3)(C(6)H(5))](2)[SnBr(4)(C(6)H(4)Cl)(2)], exists in a distorted all-trans SnC(2)Br(4) octa-hedral geometry. The Sn(IV) atom lies on a center of inversion. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonding is observed between trimethyl-phenyl-ammonium cations and the Sn complex anion in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(7)H(11)N(2))(2)[SnBr(4)(C(6)H(4)Cl)(2)]·C(6)H(4)BrCl, the Sn(IV) atom in the tetra-bromidobis(4-chloro-phen-yl)stannate(IV) anion lies on a centre of inversion. The distances between the 4-(dimethyl-amino)pyridinium N atom and the Br atoms of the anion are 3.450 (2) and 3.452 (2) Å, suggesting weak hydrogen bonding. The 4-bromo-chloro-benzene solvent mol-ecule, which is a bromination by-product from the reaction, is disordered about a twofold rotation axis with approximately equal occupancy.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(12)H(24)N)[Sn(CH(3))(3)(C(6)H(6)O(3)P)(2)], the SnMe(3) residues are axially coordinated by two monodentate [PhPO(3)H](-) anions, leading to a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry for the Sn(IV) atom. The two [SnMe(3)(PhPO(3)H)(2)](-) anions in the unit cell are associated into infinite chains along the a axis by O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the hy-droxy group of the hydrogen phenyl-phospho-nate ion. The chains inter-act with one another via O-H?O hydrogen bonds along the c axis. These networks of anions assemble with the dicyclo-hexyl-ammonium ion through N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title salt, (C6H14N)2[Sn(C2O4)Cl4], was obtained as a by-product from the reaction between 2C6H14N(+)·C2O4 (2-)·1.5H2O and SnCl2·2H2O. The cyclo-hexyl-ammonium cation has a chair conformation. The complex anion consists of an oxalate anion chelating the SnCl4 moiety, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere of the Sn(IV) atom with the O atoms in equatorial cis positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked through N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl inter-actions into a layered arrangement parallel to (100).
