Trimethyl-phenyl-ammonium ?-bromido-bis-[dibromidobis(4-bromobenzyl)stannate(IV)].

ABSTRACT: In the title salt, [C(6)H(5)N(CH(3))(3)][Sn(2)Br(5)(C(7)H(6)Br)(4)], the Sn(IV) atoms of the dinuclear anion are bridged by a Br atom; the Sn-Br(bridge) bond lengths are 2.9818?(5) and 3.0470?(5)?Å. Both Sn atoms show a distorted cis-trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards a square pyramid. In the crystal, weak C-H?? inter-actions occur between anions and cations.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(12)H(24)N)[Sn(CH(3))(3)(C(6)H(6)O(3)P)(2)], the SnMe(3) residues are axially coordinated by two monodentate [PhPO(3)H](-) anions, leading to a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry for the Sn(IV) atom. The two [SnMe(3)(PhPO(3)H)(2)](-) anions in the unit cell are associated into infinite chains along the a axis by O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the hy-droxy group of the hydrogen phenyl-phospho-nate ion. The chains inter-act with one another via O-H?O hydrogen bonds along the c axis. These networks of anions assemble with the dicyclo-hexyl-ammonium ion through N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[SnCl(6)], crystallizes with one diisopropyl-ammonium cation lying on a general position and the hexa-chloridostannate(IV) anion about a centre of inversion. The [SnCl(6)](2-) anion undergoes a slight distortion from octa-hedral symmetry as the result of the formation of four unforked charge-supported N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions form layers perpendicular to [101]. These layers are built by 24-membered rings which can be classified with an R(8) (8)(24) graph-set descriptor.
