ABSTRACT: The five-coordinate Sn atom in the title salt, [(CH(3))(3)(C(6)H(6))N][SnBr(2)(C(6)H(5))(3)], exists in a distorted trans-C(3)SnBr(2) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. In the crystal structure no obvious hydrogen bonding is observed.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(12)H(24)N)[Sn(CH(3))(3)(C(6)H(6)O(3)P)(2)], the SnMe(3) residues are axially coordinated by two monodentate [PhPO(3)H](-) anions, leading to a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry for the Sn(IV) atom. The two [SnMe(3)(PhPO(3)H)(2)](-) anions in the unit cell are associated into infinite chains along the a axis by O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the hy-droxy group of the hydrogen phenyl-phospho-nate ion. The chains inter-act with one another via O-H?O hydrogen bonds along the c axis. These networks of anions assemble with the dicyclo-hexyl-ammonium ion through N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title salt, [(CH(3))(2)NH(2)][Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)Cl(2)], was obtained as a by-product of the reaction between bis-(dimethyl-ammonium) oxalate and triphenyl-tin chloride. In the stannate anion, the trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment of the Sn(IV) atom is defined by the phenyl groups in equatorial and the Cl atoms in axial positions. The cations are connected to adjacent anions through N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to a chain motif parallel to [100].

Project description:The title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[SnCl(6)], crystallizes with one diisopropyl-ammonium cation lying on a general position and the hexa-chloridostannate(IV) anion about a centre of inversion. The [SnCl(6)](2-) anion undergoes a slight distortion from octa-hedral symmetry as the result of the formation of four unforked charge-supported N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions form layers perpendicular to [101]. These layers are built by 24-membered rings which can be classified with an R(8) (8)(24) graph-set descriptor. According to this hydrogen-bonding motif, the title compound is isostructural with (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[IrCl(6)].

Project description:In the title compound, [N(C4H9)4][Sn(C4H9)Cl4], the Sn(IV) atom of the stannate anion has a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination sphere by two Cl atoms and one butyl chain in the equatorial plane and by two Cl atoms in the apical positions. Two of the four butyl chains of the tetra-butyl-ammonium cation are partially disordered, each with refined site occupancies of 0.691?(6):0.309?(6). The anions are connected with the cations through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Every cation is involved in three N-H?Cl bonds to the chloride ligands of three different anions, and each chloride ligand is linked to two cations. This arrangement leads to a layered structure parallel to (010).
