{N-[(2-Oxido-1-naphth-yl)methyl-idene]-serinato-?O,N,O'}(1,10-phenanthroline-?N,N')copper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(C(14)H(11)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))], the tridentate Schiff base ligand is derived from the condensation of 2-hydr-oxy-1-naphthaldehyde and l-serine. The Cu(II) atom is five-coordinated by one N atom and two O atoms from the Schiff base ligand and by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. In the crystal structure, the combination of inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds results in a two-dimensional network structure parallel to (001).

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CN)(C(13)H(10)N(2))(2)](BF(4))(2), the fivefold-coordinate Cu(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis, imposing twofold symmetry to the complete cation. The structure exhibits disorder of the anion, which was successfully refined using a two-site model with 0.810?(3):0.190?(3) occupancy. The methyl group of the acetonitrile ligand is likewise disordered, here about the twofold rotation axis in a 1:1 ratio.

The central V(IV) atom is six-coordinated by one oxide O atom, two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline and one N atom and two O atoms from the Schiff base ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The C atoms of the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule are disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.732 (13) and 0.268 (13).

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a square-planar fashion by the two N atoms of a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and by two water mol-ecules trans to the N atoms. The coordination sphere of the metal atom is augmented by O atoms of two weakly bonded perchlorate anions, thus yielding a strongly distorted CuN(2)O(4) octa-hedral environment. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and the perchlorate anions. Project description:The title complex [CuCl(C12H8N2)2]2[Fe(CN)5(NO)]·C3H7NO, consists of discrete [Cu(phen)2Cl](+) cations (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline), [Fe(CN)5NO](2-) anions and one di-methyl-formamide (DMF) solvent mol-ecule of crystallization per asymmetric unit. The Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two phenanthroline ligands and one chloride ion in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The dihedral angle between the phen ligands is 77.92 (7)°. The cation charge is balanced by a disordered nitro-prusside counter-anion with the Fe(II) atom located on an inversion center with a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯N and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds connect anions and cations into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100). In addition, π-π stacking inter-actions are observed with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.565 (2)-3.760 (3)Å. The di-methyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule was refined as disordered about an inversion center.
