Catena-Poly[diquinolinium [[diaqua-cobaltate(II)]-?-cyclo-tetra-phosphato] hexa-hydrate].

ABSTRACT: The cyclo-tetra-phosphate anion, [P(4)O(12)](4-), forms the title complex with cobalt(II) and quinolinium, {(C(9)H(8)N)(2)[Co(P(4)O(12))(H(2)O)(2)]·6H(2)O}(n). In the complex anion, the Co(II) ion, lying on an inversion center, is surrounded by four phosphate O atoms and two water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal structure consists of anionic ribbons of formula {[Co(P(4)O(12))(H(2)O)(2)](2-)}(n) extending along [100]. A network of O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds consolidates the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, {(C4H12N2)2[Li2(P6O18)]·4H2O} n , the phosphate ring anion, located around an inversion center, adopts a chair conformation. Adjacent P6O18 rings are linked via corner-sharing by LiO4 tetra-hedra, generating anionic porous {[Li2(P6O18)](4-)} n layers parallel to (101). The piperazine-1,4-diium cations occupy the pores and develop hydrogen bonds with the inorganic framework. An extensive network of N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the components into a three-dimensional network and additional stabilization is provided by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The cation sits on a twofold axis and is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry; the polyhedra are linked into zigzag chains, which are further connected by N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds as well as π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance of 3.639 (2) Å], giving a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The title compound, (C(13)H(10)N)(2)[Co(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·6H(2)O, consists of mononuclear trans-[Co(pz-2,3-dc)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2-) complex anions, (acrH)(+) cations and uncoordinated water mol-ecules (acr is acridine and pz-2,3-dcH(2) is pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid). The Co(II) atom, which lies on a crystallographic center of symmetry, has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment, with two N and two O atoms from the (pz-2,3-dc)(2-) ligands in the equatorial plane and with two water mol-ecules in axial positions. In the crystal, the components are held together by two distinct N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds with R(2) (2)(8) graph-sets. The coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are also involved in O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which lead to the formation of layers with R(3) (3)(12) graph-set motifs. Extensive ?-? stacking inter-actions between parallel aromatic rings of the acridinium ions, with distances ranging from 3.533?(1) to 3.613?(1)?Å, occur in the structure.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Ni(C(4)H(2)O(4))(C(10)H(9)N(3))(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O}(n), zigzag chains are built up from cis-[Ni(dpya)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) cations (dpya is di-2-pyridylamine) linked by bis-monodentate coordinated bridging fumarate ligands. The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by one chelating dpya ligand, two aqua ligands in trans positions and two monodentate fumarate ligands in cis positions in the form of a deformed octa-hedron. The water mol-ecules, O atoms of the fumarate carboxyl-ate groups and the amine group of the dpya ligand are involved in an extended network of intra- and inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. Moreover, ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the dpya ligand contribute to the stability of the structure. Two of the five uncoordinated water molecules are half-occupied.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex salt, [Ni(C(10)H(24)N(4))(H(2)O)(2)](C(4)H(2)O(4))·4H(2)O, comprises half of a nickel(II) complex dication, half of a fumarate dianion and two water mol-ecules. Both the Ni(II) cation and fumarate anion lie on a crystallographic inversion center. The Ni(II) ion in the cyclam complex is six-coordinated within a distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry, with the four cyclam N atoms in the equatorial plane and the two water mol-ecules in apical positions. The six-membered metalla ring adopts a chair conformation, whereas the five-membered ring exists in a twisted form. In the crystal packing, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water molecules and the carboxyl groups of the fumarate anions lead to the formation of layers with R(4) (2)(8) ring motifs. Ni(II) complex cations are sandwiched between two such layers, being held in place by O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, consolidating a three-dimensional network.

One Fe(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment, with two chelating rings from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two O atoms from the water mol-ecules, while the other is in a distorted octa-hedral O(6) environment with two O atoms from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and four O atoms from the water mol-ecules. Both Fe(II) atoms lie on crystallographic centers of symmetry. The complex possesses an infinite chain structure running along the [101] direction. These chains are inter-connected by the uncoordinated water mol-ecules through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Co(4)(C(2)O(4))(PO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), there are layers composed of the phosphate anions and two independent Co(II) cations. These layers are parallel to (001) and are bridged by the oxalate anions that are situated in special positions on centres of symmetry. One independent Co atom has an octa-hedral coordination, while the second independent Co atom is coordinated in a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination that includes the water mol-ecule. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and oxalate O atoms.
