ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title complex, [Ni(C(14)H(6)O(8)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Ni(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and by two O atoms, one from a 9,10-dioxoanthracene-1,5-disulfonate ligand and the other from a water mol-ecule. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mononuclear complexes into chains extending parallel to [010]. Furthermore, ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5696?(6)?Å] stabilize the crystal structuure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(HCO(2))(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, contains a mononuclear complex mol-ecule hydrogen bonded to a lattice water mol-ecule. The Ni(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by the N atoms from a 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two O atoms of a chelating formate anion, one aqua O atom and one O atom of a coordinating formate anion. The mol-ecules are assembled into chains extending along [100] through by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The supra-molecular chains are further linked into layers parallel to (011) by weak π-π packing inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.768 (2) Å]. The resulting layers are stacked to meet the requirement of close-packing patterns.

Project description:The title complex, {[Mn(C(14)H(6)O(8)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·4H(2)O}(n), exhibits a chain-like polymeric structure with 9,10-dioxo-anthracene-1,5-disulfonate anions bridging Mn(II) atoms in a bis-monodentate mode. The unique Mn(II) atom is located on a crystallographic centre of inversion. Four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two sulfonate O atoms from two symmetry-related 9,10-dioxoanthracene-1,5-disulfonate anions give rise to a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment around the Mn(II) centre. The centroid of the central ring of the anthraquinone ligand represents another crystallographic centre of inversion. In the crystal structure, inter-ligand π-π stacking [centroid-to-centroid distances 3.532 (1) and 3.497 (3) Å] and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions assemble the chains into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(2)(C(9)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is isostructural with the Zn(II) analogue. Each Ni(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by three O atoms from two homophthalate anions, one aqua O atom and two 1,10-phenanthroline N atoms. The two Ni(II) atoms are linked by two bridging homophthalate dianions into a centrosymmetric dinuclear unit. The dinuclear units are linked into one-dimensional ladder-like chains along [100] by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and one of the O atoms of the carboxyl-atomethyl group.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(5)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom displays a dis-torted square-pyramidal coordination environment with the basal plane occupied by two phenanthroline N atoms and two O atoms from different glutarate dianions while a water mol-ecule is located at the apical position. Of the two water H atoms, one is engaged in an intra-molecular hydrogen bond with a free oxygen of the dianion whereas the second is engaged in an inter-molecular hydrogen bond, building a corrugated layer parallel to (100). These layers are further connected through π-π stacking inter-actions involving symmetry-related phenanthroline rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5599 (17) and 3.5617 (18) Å], building a three dimensionnal network. C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the phenanthroline ring system are also observed.

Project description:In the title dinuclear complex, [Ni(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], each Ni(II) atom is six-coordinated by three carboxylate O atoms from three 4-methyl-benzoate ligands, two N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, and one μ(2)-bridging aqua ligand. The dimeric complex is located on a crystallographic twofold axis and each Ni atom displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The crystal structure is stabilized via intra-molecular hydrogen bonding of the bridging water mol-ecule and the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms, and by C-H⋯O and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances between neighbouring phenanthroline ring systems and between the benzene ring of a 4-methyl-benzoate unit and a phenanthroline ring system are 3.662 (2) and 3.611 (3) Å, respectively].

The dication possesses pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry. The penta-coordination of each Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with two N donors from a phenanthroline ligand and two carboxyl-ate O atoms occupying basal sites and the apical position being occupied by a water mol-ecule.
