Bis{2-[1-(benzyl-imino)-eth-yl]phenolato}palladium(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Pd(C(15)H(14)NO)(2)], the Pd atom lies on an inversion center and is coordinated by two ligand mol-ecules through the O and N atoms in a bidentate manner, forming a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings in the ligand is 76.53 (19)°. The mol-ecular packing is stablized by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:There are one and a half independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(8)NO)(2)], one of which is situated on an inversion center. In both mol-ecules, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by two O and two N atoms from two Schiff base ligands in an approximate square-planar geometry. Inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link three mol-ecules into centrosymmetric trimer. The crystal packing exhibits weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds and voids of 37?Å(3).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Pd(C15H13FNO)2], contains one half of the mol-ecule with the Pd(II) cation lying on an inversion centre and is coordinated by the bidentate Schiff base anion. The geometry around the cationic Pd(II) centre is distorted square planar, chelated by the imine N- and phenolate O-donor atoms of the two Schiff base ligands. The N- and O-donor atoms of the two ligands are mutually trans, with Pd-N and Pd-O bond lengths of 2.028 (2) and 1.9770 (18) Å, respectively. The fluoro-phenyl ring is tilted away from the coordination plane and makes a dihedral angle of 66.2 (2)° with the phenolate ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into chains along the [101] direction by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Weak π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 4.079 (2) Å stack the mol-ecules along c.

Both Cu(II) cations are N,N',O-chelated by one arm of the 2,6-bis-[(2-amino-eth-yl)imino-meth-yl]-4-chloro-phenolate anion, and one oxide anion bridges the two Cu(II) cations, forming a dinuclear complex. One of the Cu(II) cations is further coordinated by an Cl(-) anion in the apical direction. In the crystal, lattice water mol-ecules are linked with the complex mol-ecule via O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds while O-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs between lattice water mol-ecules , forming three-dimensional network structure.
