N,N-Bis[4-(dimethyl-amino)-benzyl-idene]pyridine-2,6-dicarbohydrazide monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(25)H(27)N(7)O(2)·H(2)O, the bis-[4-(dimethyl-amino)-benzyl-idene]pyridine-2,6-dicarbohydrazide mol-ecule and the water mol-ecule are located on a twofold rotation axis. The benzene and pyridine rings form a dihedral angle of 17.13?(7)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supermolecular structure parallel to the ab plane.

Two mol-ecules are connected into a centrosymmetric dimer by inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. These dimers are connected into chains along the a axis by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
