ABSTRACT: In title salt, C(38)H(34)P(2) (2+)·2IO(4) (-), the P atoms of the dication and the I atoms of the periodate anions are each in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral environment. In the dication, the two -P(C(6)H(5))(3) groups adopt a gauche conformation with respect to each other. In the crystal, several C-H?O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions lead to a two-dimensional arrangement along (101).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the binuclear title compound, [Sn(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(6)H(5))(6)(CH(4)N(2)S)(2)], consists of one half of the organotin(IV) mol-ecule. The remainder is generated by a twofold rotation axis passing through the mid-point of the oxalate C-C bond. The Sn(IV) atom exhibits a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment with the phenyl groups in equatorial positions and the thio-urea and the monodentately bridging oxalate anion in axial positions. The mol-ecules are linked through N-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the amino group of the thio-urea ligand and the uncoordinating oxalate O atoms, forming layers parallel to (001). Weak C-H?O inter-actions are also present.

Synthesis and topology analysis of chlorido-triphen-yl(triphenyl phosphate-κ<i>O</i>)tin(IV).

Project description:The title SnIV complex, [Sn(C6H5)3Cl(C18H15O4P)], is a formal adduct between triphenyl phosphate (PhO)3P=O and the stannane derivative chlorido-tri-phenyl-tin, SnPh3Cl. The structure refinement reveals that this mol-ecule displays the largest Sn-O bond length for compounds including the X=O→SnPh3Cl fragment (X = P, S, C, or V), 2.6644 (17) Å. However, an AIM topology analysis based on the wavefunction calculated from the refined X-ray structure shows the presence of a bond critical point (3,-1), lying on the inter-basin surface separating the coordinated phosphate O atom and the Sn atom. This study thus shows that an actual polar covalent bond is formed between (PhO)3P=O and SnPh3Cl moieties.

Project description:The title compound, C(28)H(20)N(2)O(8), was synthesized by the reaction of isobenzofuran-1,3-dione and 2-amino-ethanol in a one-pot reaction. The benzene and five-membered rings are slightly twisted to each other, making dihedral angles of 2.77 (9) and 1.77 (10)°. The rings of the phthalimide groups make dihedral angle of 57.64 (7) and 83.46 (7)° with the central benzene ring. Weak C-H⋯O, C-H⋯π and π-π [centroid-centroid distance = 3.446 (1) and 3.599 (1) Å] inter-actions reinforce the cohesion of the crystal.
