ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(12)H(8)NO(2))(2)](n), the Zn(2+) cation is coordinated by a pair of carboxyl-ate O atoms as well as two pyridyl N atoms to afford a distorted tetra-hedral environment. Adjacent Zn(2+) cations, with a separation of 8.807?(2)?Å, are linked by two 3-(3-pyrid-yl)benzoate ligand bridges, generating an infinite ribbon extending parallel to [001].

Project description:In the title coordination compound, {[Zn(C(7)H(4)BrO(2))(2)(C(12)H(10)N(2))]·CH(3)CN}(n), the Zn(II) atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral environment by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two different 4-bromo-benzoate (bpe) ligands and two N atoms from two symmetry-related 1,2-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)ethene ligands. The Zn(II) atoms are bridged by the bpe ligands, which lie across centres of inversion, forming a zigzag chain along [001]. The void space of each unit cell is occupied by an acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule, which is connected to the complex mol-ecule by a weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bond.

Project description:The paddle-wheel-type centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Zn(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(4)(C(12)H(10)N(2))(2)], contains four bridging benzoate groups and two terminal trans-1-(2-pyrid-yl)-2-(4-pyrid-yl)ethyl-ene (L) ligands. The inversion center is located between the two Zn(II) atoms. The octa-hedral coordination around the Zn(II) atom, with four O atoms in the equatorial plane, is completed by an N atom of the L mol-ecule [Zn-N = 2.0198?(15)?Å] and by the second Zn(II) atom [Zn?Zn = 2.971?(8)?Å]. The Zn(II) atom is 0.372?Å out of the plane of the four coordinating O atoms.

Project description:The title one-dimensional coordination polymer, {[Zn(NCS)(2)(C(24)H(20)N(6))(2)]·0.28H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the reaction of Zn(OAc)(2)·2H(2)O, KSCN and 1,2-bis-{[2-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-imid-azol-1-yl]meth-yl}benzene (hereafter L). The Zn(II) ion shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and is coordin-ated by two N atoms from two SCN(-) anions and four N atoms from two organic ligands. The L ligands act as bridging bis-chelating ligands with cis coordination modes at the Zn(II) ion. One-dimensional coordination polymers are arranged into layers by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the imidazole rings of adjacent chains, with an inter-planar distance of 3.46?(1)?Å and centroid-centroid distances of 3.8775?(16)?Å. One of the thio-cyanate ligands is disordered over two positions with an occupancy factor of 0.564?(3) for the major component. The partially occupied water mol-ecule forms an O-H?S hydrogen bond with the disordered thio-cyanate group.

Two Cl atoms lying above and below the plane formed by these four N atoms inter-act weakly with the Cu atom [Cu-Cl = 2.7870?(7)?Å]. The trans 2,5-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole ligands act as bridging ligands, linking adjacent Cu atoms and forming a one-dimensional coordination polymer. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Zn(C(7)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·4H(2)O}(n), contains a highly distorted octa-hedral Zn(II) metal center strongly coordinated by two N atoms of two 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) ligands and chelated by two 4-methyl-benzoate anions. The crystallographic inversion center and glide plane present at the center of the C-C single bond of 4,4'-bipy, along with the cis coordination motif of the 4,4'-bipy, lead to one-dimensional zigzag chains. There are a large number of water mol-ecules in the crystal structure, which also form one-dimensional chains through O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The hydro-thermal reaction of CoCO(3) and 4-fluoro-benzoic acid afforded the title Co(II) complex, [Co(C(7)H(4)FO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n). The Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by six O atoms from two water mol-ecules and four ?(2)-carboxyl-ate groups of 4-fluoro-benzoate anions, forming a distorted CoO(6) octa-hedron, with Co-O bond lengths in the range 2.071?(2)-2.130?(2)?Å. All adjacent O-Co-O angles are in the range 84.78?(6)-95.22?(6)° and opposite angles are 180.0°. Each ?-carboxyl-ate group of the 4-fluoro-benzoate anions bridges two symmetry-related Co(II) atoms. Hydrogen-bonding inter-actions of the coordinated water mol-ecules further connect the cobalt-carboxyl-ate units, forming layers perpendicular to the a axis. The cobalt-oxygen layers are encased in a sandwich-like fashion by layers of ?-stacked 4-fluoro-benzoate anions. Within these layers the benzene rings of the 4-fluoro-benzoate anions are ?-stacked, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.432?(4)?Å.
