ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)(NO(2))(4)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(4)], the asymmetric unit consists of two moieties containing one Cu ion, two nitrite ions and two 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole mol-ecules associated via weak Cu-O inter-actions. Each Cu(II) atom displays an elongted square-pyramidal CuN(2)O(3) coordination geometry with a slight tetra-hedral distortion in the basal plane. The dimeric units are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(2)O(4))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), is composed of one-dimensional linear chains running parallel to the a axis. In the chain, trans-[Cu(imidazole)(2)](2+) units are sequentially bridged by bis-bidentate oxalate ligands, resulting in an octa-hedral CuO(4)N(2) donor set. The Cu⋯Cu separation through the oxalate bridge is 5.620 (5) Å. Both the Cu atoms and the C-C bond of the oxalate bridge are bis-ected by inversion centres.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment. The mol-ecules are assembled into double chains extending along [010] by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These double chains are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (02); the layers are linked into a three-dimensional network by van der Waals inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(12)H(6)O(4))(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (naph) dianions, two imidazole mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Cu-O bond distance in the apical direction is 0.509 (3) Å longer than the mean Cu-O bond distance in the basal plane. The naph dianion bridges two Cu(II) cations, forming a one-dimensional polymeric chain. The coordinated water mol-ecule is hydrogen-bonded to the carboxylate groups and imidazole ligands of adjacent polymeric chains, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. No π-π stacking is observed in the crystal structure. One solvent water molecule is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the title copper(II) salt, [Cu(C(6)H(6)N(4))(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)](BF(4))(2), the Jahn-Teller distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere of copper is formed from four 2,2'-bi-1H-imidazole N atoms and two dimethyl sulfoxide O atoms. The Cu atom lies on a center of inversion. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds give rise to a one-dimensional structure. The BF(4) (-) anion is disordered over two sites in a 0.671 (10):0.329 (10) ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(2)Cl(4)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(3)](n), contains two Cd(II) cations, three 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and four Cl(-) anions. The two Cd(II) atoms have quite different coordination environments: one is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms and two N atoms from two 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and the second is in a severely distorted fivefold coordination by four Cl atoms and one N atom from a 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand. Adjacent Cd(II) cations are inter-connected alternately by pairs of chloride bridges, generating an infinite step-like chain along the a axis. One ethyl group of the 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand is disordered over two sets of sites with a 0.668?(13):0.332?(13) site-occupancy ratio.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(5)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom displays a dis-torted square-pyramidal coordination environment with the basal plane occupied by two phenanthroline N atoms and two O atoms from different glutarate dianions while a water mol-ecule is located at the apical position. Of the two water H atoms, one is engaged in an intra-molecular hydrogen bond with a free oxygen of the dianion whereas the second is engaged in an inter-molecular hydrogen bond, building a corrugated layer parallel to (100). These layers are further connected through π-π stacking inter-actions involving symmetry-related phenanthroline rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5599 (17) and 3.5617 (18) Å], building a three dimensionnal network. C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the phenanthroline ring system are also observed.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), the carboxyl-ate groups of the 3-nitro-phthalate dianion ligand coordinate the Zn(II) ion in a bis-monodentate mode. The Zn(II) ion shows distorted tetra-hedral coordination as it is bonded to two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of symmetry-related 3-nitro-phthalate anions and two N atoms of two independent 1-methyl-imidazole mol-ecules. The bridging 3-nitro-phthalate ligand allows the formation of one-dimensional chains in the c direction. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The dinuclear mol-ecule of the title compound, [Cd(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, lies on an inversion centre and forms 12-membered (CdNC(3)O)(2) metallacycles with the two Cd(2+) ions bridged by two nicotinate ligands. Both Cd(2+) ions display coordination polyhedra with a distorted octa-hedral geometry that includes two pyridine N atoms from bridging and terminal nicotinate anions, two amine N atoms from chelating ethylene-diamine ligands, carboxylate O atoms from bridging nicotinate anions and water O atoms. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of a three-dimensional network, and π-π stacking inter-actions are observed between symmetry-related pyridine rings of bridging as well as terminal nicotinate anions (the centroid-centroid distances are 3.59 and 3.69 Å, respectively, and the distances between parallel planes of the stacked pyridine rings are 3.53 and 3.43 Å, respectively). The two methylene groups of the ethylene-diamine ligand are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.8 and 0.2.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C7H4ClO2)2(C10H14N2O)2(H2O)], has twofold symmetry with the Cu(II) cation and the O atom of the coordinating water mol-ecule located on the axis. The Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms of chloro-benzoate (CB) anions, two N atoms of N,N-di-ethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted N2O3 square-pyramidal geometry. The benzene and pyridine rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 82.51 (6)°. In the anionic ligand, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted away from the attached benzene ring by 12.85 (11)°. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinating water mol-ecule and the carboxyl group link the complex mol-ecules into supra-molecular chains running along the c-axis direction.
