ABSTRACT: The title dinuclear centrosymmetric complex, [Hg(2)Cl(4)(C(24)H(18)N(6)O(3))(2)]·2CH(3)OH, comprises Hg(II) atoms coordinated by two Cl atoms and two N atoms from ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The solvent mol-ecules are linked by hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title compound, [Hg(2)Cl(4)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Hg(II) ion is four-coordinated by one pyridine N atom from a 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridine ligand, one terminal Cl atom and two bridging Cl atoms. A distorted tetra-hedral geometry is formed around each Hg(II) ion. The crystal packing is stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding. There are also π-π stacking inter-actions in the structure, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.594 (6) Å.

In the complex, there is an intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the binuclear units are connected by inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, as well as π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.526 (2) and 3.696 (2) Å], forming a two-dimensional layered structure parallel to (010).

The crystal structure is stabilized by a combination of weak π-π stacking inter-actions between symmetry-related 1,10-phenanthroline ligands [centroi-centroid distance between benzene rings = 3.5936 (18) Å] and weak O-H⋯S, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds between methanol and complex mol-ecules.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(16)H(31)O(2))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2CH(3)OH, contains one half-mol-ecule of the metal complex solvated by a methanol mol-ecule. In the complex, two of the metal atoms are doubly bridged by two monodentate bridging hexa-deca-noate ligands around a center of inversion. The square-pyramidal geometry around each Cu(II) ion is completed by a terminal hexa-deca-noate O atom and two N atoms from a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. The alkyl chains of the carboxyl-ate ligands are arranged in a parallel manner with an all-trans conformation. In the crystal, a π-π inter-action formed by the bipyridine rings [centroid-centroid separation = 3.7723 (17) Å] and inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules into infinite chains along the b axis. An O-H⋯O interaction between the methanol solvate and one of the carboxylate O atoms is also observed.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Hg(2)Cl(4)(C(6)H(12)N(2))](n), each Hg(II) center within the chain is four-coordinated by one terminal Cl atom, two bridging μ(2)-Cl atoms, and one N-atom donor from a μ(2)-1,4-diaza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane (μ(2)-daco) ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The daco ligand acts as an end-to-end bridging ligand and bridges adjacent Hg(II) centers, forming a chain running along [001]. Weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the chains into a three-dimensional network. Comparison of the structural differences with previous findings suggests that the space between the two N donors, as well as the skeletal rigidity in N-heterocyclic linear ligands, may play an important role in the construction of such supra-molecular networks.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, {[Cd(NCS)2(C6H6N2S)]·2CH3OH} n , consists of one cadmium(II) cation that is located on a centre of inversion as well as one thio-cyanate anion, one pyridine-4-carbo-thio-amide ligand and one methanol mol-ecule in general positions. The Cd(II) cations are octa-hedrally coordinated by the pyridine N atom of two pyridine-4-carbo-thio-amide ligands and by the S and N atoms of four thio-cyanate anions and are linked into chains along [010] by pairs of anionic ligands. These chains are further linked into layers extending along (201) by inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯S hydrogen bonds. One of the amino H atoms of the pyridine-4-carbo-thio-amide ligand is hydrogen-bonded to the O atom of a methanol mol-ecule, and a symmetry-related methanol mol-ecule is the donor group to the S atom of another pyridine-4-carbo-thio-amide ligand whereby each of the pyridine-4-carbo-thio-amide ligands forms two pairs of centrosymmetric N-H⋯S and O-H⋯S hydrogen bonds. The methanol mol-ecules are equally disordered over two orientations.

The three Cr(III) atoms form vertices of a nearly equilateral triangle. Each of the six acetate carboxyl-ate groups bridges a Cr-O-Cr fragment. In the crystal, the molecules inter-act with methanol solvent mol-ecules through O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network parallel to (100).
