ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(12)N(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2), the central Cu(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and is surrounded by four N atoms and two O atoms from the two inversion-related 2-(2-amino-ethyl-amino)-ethanol ligands. In the crystal, mol-ecules are held together by inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The copper(II) complex, [Cu(C(4)H(10)N(4)O)(2)](NO(3))(2) or [Cu(L(1e))(2)](NO(3))(2), where L(1e) is 1-carbamimidoyl-2-ethyl-isourea, was obtained from a 1:2 molar ratio of copper(II) nitrate hemipenta-hydrate with 2-cyano-guanidine in ethanol. The crystal structure consists of the centrosymmetric [Cu(L(1e))(2)](2+) cation and two NO(3) (-) counter-anions. The cation exhibits four-coordinate bonding of the two N,N-bidentate ligands and the Cu(II) atom through the N-donor atoms, yielding a square-planar CuN(4) geometry. Inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link between the cation and and counter-anion, forming a two-dimentional layered structure extending parallel to (01).

The dinuclear copper complex is located on a crystallographic inversion centre. The Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry, with one O atom of a succinate dianion and three N atoms of a 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the apical site. In the crystal structure, O-H?O hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules into a chain parallel to the a axis.

The dication possesses pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry. The penta-coordination of each Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with two N donors from a phenanthroline ligand and two carboxyl-ate O atoms occupying basal sites and the apical position being occupied by a water mol-ecule. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked to form a three-dimensional framework by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.6039?(15), 3.5301?(15), 3.6015?(15), 3.6496?(15) and 3.6858?(15)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(11)H(13)N(3))(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of Cu(NO(3))(2) and racemic 2-(pyrrolidin-2-yl)-1H-1,3-benzimidazole, the Cu(II) atom lies on an inversion centre. The distorted octa-hedral Cu(II) environment contains two planar trans-related N,N-chelating 2-(pyrrolidin-2-yl)-1H-1,3-benzimidazole ligands in the equatorial plane and two monodentate nitrate anions, which are in weak inter-action with the Cu atom, in the axial positions. The two benzimidazole ligands have opposite configurations (R/S and S/R) and compound is a meso complex. In the crystal, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds generate an infinite three-dimensional network. One methylene group of the pyrrolidine ring is disordered over two position with a 0.56?(3):0.44?(3) occupancy.

The Cu(II) atom is located on a centre of inversion and has an elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by four N atoms from four symmetry-related btp ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules. Adjacent Cu(II) atoms are connected by btp ligands, generating a double-stranded chain. The nitrate anion is disordered over two positions in a 0.828?(7):0.172?(2) ratio.

Two symmetry-related azide ligands bridge in ?(2)-modes giving a Cu?Cu distance of 3.533?(2)?Å. In the crystal, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. In addition, there are weak inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances ranging from 3.562?(2) to 3.974?(2)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(8)NO)(2)], a strictly square-planar geometry about the Cu(II) metal atom is observed. Substitution of an O atom with a methyl-functionalized N atom does not significantly alter the bond distances and angles in the copper(II) complex when compared with a similar bis-(troponato)copper(II) complex. ?-? stacking is observed between the tropolone rings, with inter-planar distances of 3.5039?(16) and 3.2933?(15)?Å, respectively. Additional stabilisation of the structure is accomplished through C-H?O hydrogen-bonding interactions.
