8-Hy-droxy-2-methyl-quinolinium dichlorido(2-methyl-quinolin-8-olato-κN,O)zincate acetonitrile disolvate.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The reaction of 2-methyl-8-hy-droxy-quinoline and zinc chloride in acetonitrile affords the title solvated salt, (C(10)H(10)NO)[Zn(C(10)H(8)NO)Cl(2)]·2CH(3)CN, in which the Zn(II) atom is coordinated by an- N,O-chelating 2-methyl-quinolin-8-olate ligand and two chloride ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The cation is linked to the heterocyclic anion by an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond and the quinolinium H atom forms a inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond with one of the acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules.
